Lotusguy Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Smoking a Upmann Noellas from the Jar. Over the last year, they have improved from horrible (70) to barely acceptable (75). Don't waste your money. Bitterness and nothing else. Booooo!
Lotusguy Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 ...and to make up for that POS Noellas, a Sir Winston from 2010 - that's what I am talking about!!! Someday I have to get a box, even though I rarely smoke Churchills.
NMJoe Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Started the night with a Monte 4...total crap! This box is Jekyll and Hyde. Finishing off with an Epi 2. Ahhhh, better! Milky coffee and toast.
isa Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Last night i opened a box of RASS HQ - it was nice, coffee, cocoa to fruity, sweet - enjoyed it straight off the truck

isa Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Awesome. I have a box en route! Hey phoenix , yeah, they were nice right away, but i guess a month or so in the humidor & the flavours will open up even more
isa Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Smoking a Monte GE tonight as planned - wonderful. Dark chocolate to begin with and later becomes more milk chocolate, some sweet spices, touch of wood, pepper now & then - chocolate heaven this one, no bitterness that some have noticed, definitely recommended
LLC Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Finished my holiday last night with a Siglo I and an americano. Time to head home now.
pjansen Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Smoking a Monte GE tonight as planned - wonderful. Dark chocolate to begin with and later becomes more milk chocolate, some sweet spices, touch of wood, pepper now & then - chocolate heaven this one, no bitterness that some have noticed, definitely recommended Got two boxes of them! I agree they are great!
Kosh Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Had a Partagas Serie D no 4 after finishing the day's work. This box is from -08 and has mellowed out nicely by now. Paired it with a little Ardbeg and a Scarecrow. Nice way to relax.
MrDowse Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Dip#2 tonight with a couple of beers. Coffee and peanut butter goodness
phoenix Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Had lunch with an 'old friend' today. They sure don't make 'em like this anymore. Literally. H. Upmann Monarca (FIM FEB 05)
hmoon01 Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Smoking a Bolivar petit corona from NOV 11. Very nice smoke. I just bought the box, will age at least twenty of them for a few more months, but they are smoking great now.
canadianbeaver Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Smoked a Trinidad Fundadores I picked up in Amsterdam. Very nice but not the mind blower I got from Frank last month. Perhaps this the 2011 or 12 that Rob talks about in the April review video?
maverickdrinker Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 This next..... 2008 RE Libano 30th Anniversario Phoencia Sublime
Orion21 Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 1) Romeo y Julieta Cazadores - Great cigar 2) Trinidad Coloniales - So good, but young 3) QdO Corona - Best to-date 4) Partagas EL '10 - Just started, but very good.
NMJoe Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 CoRo to celebrate a great day that delivered wonderful news. Very young, but these are just a great smoke. I hope I can let them sit long enough to see what some age does for them.
Lotusguy Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 Another outstanding H. Upmann Royal Robusto. It's an easy 95 and that's with only about 1 year of age. I will have a hard time aging the rest of my boxes...
isa Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 In the evening had a ERDM demitasse followed by HDM Epi 2 - both were good.
Kosh Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 Taking a break from work for an hour with a Hoyo Petit Robusto from ABR 10. Nice and smooth already. Impressive. Paired with a Coke light.
phoenix Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 Had a PSP1 in the afternoon - it was nice Would KILL for one of those right about now. Started out with a PUTRID (PSP!!!) ERDM CS from ASE NOV 09-- then moved onto an Upmann SWC (see above)...
