Popular Post JohnS
Cigars I've enjoyed lately... 1. Cohiba 1966 EL 2011 (thanks @Trevor2118) This continues to be a superlative cigar! Of course, I'm grateful to you Trevor for the opportunity to sample this prior to doing our Cohiba Siglo VI video review for the 2017 Xmas Sampler series. Hay, citrus, honey, vanilla all tied up in a cocoa or "Limited Edition" light chocolate spine, these haven't diminished whatsoever since their release 6 years ago. They have many years left in them yet to develop! 2. Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No.2 (from circa 2012/13 thanks @GreenPosiden) I must say age can do wonders for this cigar. It had notes of cedar, milk coffee, cocoa, which is very pleasant in Hoyo de Monterrey, but it was the light notes of a combined cream and spice, more through the nose, which I appreciated. 3. San Cristobal de La Habana El Principe (TOS May 16) This is a staple in my humidor. Espresso Coffee, cocoa, molasses and at times, spice, these are great because they are so consistently good for me construction-wise and flavour-wise. 4. Hoyo de Monterrey Double Corona (circa 2001 - thanks @Fuzz) I must thank Fuzz for gifting me this aged Double Corona. 15 years on this allowed that coffee biscuit and cream combination to come through, together with some vanilla, cedar and hints of spice. 2 hours of bliss! 5. Cohiba Maduro 5 Secretos (circa 2007 - thanks @Trevor2118) If you smoke these on a regular (or semi-regular) basis, do yourself a favour and age these a little. Sure, that Cohiba grass/hay and maduro distinctive coffee flavour is there, but the chocolate and dashes of cream really combine nicely as these age. (It's a) Very nice cigar to have on occasion! 6. Partagas 8-9-8 (RAE Ago 15 - thanks @khamy) I must acknowledge and thank Kam for the opportunity to smoke this cigar. The Partagas 8-9-8 has not been around lately as in the past, but I really love the Dalia vitola (43 ring gauge x 170 mm). It was also not overpowering in anyway, with a lovely "Partagas DNA" sourdough, coffee and leather throughout.

Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk I recently went on a little Fuente kick. I love the rosado sungrown. Once the eye of the shark won COTY, I went through a few Hemingway, Gran Reservas, and Don Carlos to see how the flavor profile compares across those lines with Cameroon wrappers. I have enjoyed returning the experiments.

Popular Post Akela3rd
Monte 4 (AEM MAY 14)Proving to be an excellent box from a 24:24 a couple of months ago. And my new ashtray, which my wife hates as its "70's tat" but I think is pretty damn groovy. Thunder & Lightening '75 - '15

Popular Post thedame007
Cheeky little HUHC braving the outdoors. This little fella has settled down after his rest, and it’s full of cream, wood, but still got a spicy bite on the retrohale
Popular Post encephalization
Vegueros El Laguito No. 1 from 2001. This box has been hit or miss when it comes to construction but I found a good one this morning. First third was a bit muddled (past its prime?) but it sure revved up and I had a hard time putting it down at the end.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk

If it were up to me I think I wouldn't have them up to 15 years of age rested because I would have smoked them all! At this age, the 15 year old HdM Double Corona blend was light on chocolate or cocoa and coffee, but emphatic on graham cracker or biscuit. There was a very nice cream texture to it. I think you won't be disappointed trying a few right out of the box. I had some recent examples less than 2 years old and they've been great too.
