An RE Friday with @Nate Chu C&C for a Saturday morning with this Sir Winston from 03. Today is going to be great if this cigar is anything to judge it by. What a super smooth star

First cigar of the year.

C&C ‘14 especiales. Fantastic start to the day C&C with a Monte 4 C&C time today with a Perla picked up from 24:24

ABR Oct 11 Sancho Panza Molinos which I enjoyed together (sharing another one) with my dear friend @Luca. Salted cream and wood, in a word...delicious! Interestingly, both these cigars burnt along the wrapper, but thankfully there weren't any significant burn issues.

The first of my boxes from 2000 finally arrived yesterday (thank god). Although it looks as if the supplier has done something pretty naughty in hodgpotching two boxes together, 15 of them being a nice sandy rosado, and 10 being claro (even bands very slightly different shades) I'm would complain, but sending them back to where they came from, would be the equivalent of dropping them into a black hole.

Anyway smoked one of the rosado ones today and they were truely magical.  cream, pencil shavings and quite uniquely a strong marzipan that almost bordered on blue marker pen, ketone chemical flavor. Which whilst sounding terrible, was delicious. I'll get a review in shortly

...so my wildlife and smoking concepts are rubbing off...! Great pic my friend! Been kind of a bad year for Monarchs this year (butterflies). -R

Yep, I feel wildlife and a good smoke go very nicely together...:D. Been already sadly missing your Monarchs pics this year, Piggy!

As Britain is in the grip of a "weather bomb" according to sections of the media (sorry, WEATHER BOMB!!!) I've taken refuge in the back garden with a Partagas Short. As has Boris, my avatar.

Always wondered, who may be Boris - if you mind telling....:D

He was a wedding gift from my best mate Phil and through some dark days of recovery Boris was my sounding board. He's solid, dependable, a good listener and looks good in a hat. This applies to both of them.

I called my mum, who lives in the north and it's 'a bit windy, but not too cold'.

Another discontinued marvel...2009 RGCE. The smell from the foot of this cigar was absolutely amazing. I rolled the window up in my car it was that awesome. Sounds strange but for some reason the smell of the cigar reminded me of good times spent at the bowling alley when I was a kid. In a good way. Hard to describe it exactly. Awesome smoke.

You did indeed, but at the age and price point, I couldn't resist. Interestingly I was shown a box I didn't like, This was apparently not the done thing, The one box I turned down all at least looked from the same box!!!! ha. It appears I had angered the cigar gods, and was to be punished. I will say though the cigar (sandy rosado hue) I smoked the other day was easily in the top 10 cigars I've ever smoked so, Waddayagonnado!

This reminds me of a story...

My uncle Henry was friends with the master stone carver of the Washington Cathedral (Washington DC, USA). His name might come to me as I type...

Anyway he was renowned for carving up his friends "faces" in stone gargoyles. As a result, one of the gargoyles perched high on the cathedral bears my uncles' face. The one that I remember the best was the one that other stone carvers made of the 'old master.' He apparently had a short fuse and a bit of a temper. Additionally, he had an affinity for bowler hats. As a result they carved his face with a mushroom cloud formed above it, raising a bowler hat...

Your pic of Boris reminded me of that image!

Cheers! -R

Had to add, trying to remember the name was killing me!
