Very excited, but will also miss the people and the country.....especially below views that we almost took for granted. Celebrating with a CoRo. Popular Post JohnS Posted October 8, 2017 Popular Post Posted October 8, 2017 I had a great time celebrating my cousin's wedding this weekend by attending a pre-wedding cigar and scotch get together the night before the wedding. The first cigar was gifted to me by @Fuzz (a big thank you) and saved for a very special occasion such as this one. This 2008 Montecristo Sublime LE is highly-rated (amongst cigar enthusiasts). It's very, very smooth and mild, with notes of light Montecristo cocoa, nut, vanilla and cream. The last third picked up in intensity, but it only increased the strength a little, this was definitely easy to nub to the end! The second cigar was a Hoyo de Monterrey Colección Habanos 2003. Gifted by @Trevor2118, this is a Numero 109 from Habanos Collection Series from 2003. @ATGroom, the proprietor of Cuban Cigar Website, wrote a review on this cigar on his blog, duskybeauties.com noting elements of grass, wood and tree sap. I got something similar...hay. wood, almond nut and just a twang of vanilla spice. I have to concur with Alex's review, these $100 a pop cigar are not great, but they aren't bad either, they're reliably good, after all they're numero 109's! A link to Alex's Colección Habanos (book humidors) reviews can be read here. 13

Westside Threat Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 HDMDC (RQE Jul 16) & Pizza Port California Honey Blonde. This is the most clogged cigar I've ever had the misfortune of smoking. I used the Perfecdraw from both ends and its still going to be a fight. Couple of holes I had to glue as well. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 5
earthson Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 Oliva Serie V lancero from approx. 10 or 11. Very muted flavors until the last 1.5 inches, when it blossomed into a symphony of leather, spices, brown sugar and rich tobacco, which matches my memory of the ones I had when they were first released. If they could deliver such complex, satisfying flavors for at least half of the stick, I would stock a box at all times. As it is, I just can't see smoking such a full-bodied, strong smoke for over an hour just to get 15 minutes of glory. Paired with Johnny Drum Private Stock bourbon, which is a very, very good and decadent tipple that drinks several shelves above its pricetag (less than $30). While not quite on the par of my beloved Willett Pot Still Reserve, I have recently realized that there are some supremely talented hands and minds over at Willett! 4
