Guest Nekhyludov
All this talk of Cazzies inspired me to pull one out. LEP JUL 16, gifted from a generous FoHer. This has to be one of the most beautiful wrappers I've ever seen.

Popular Post Lotusguy
Met up with another member at Stanza Dei Sigari. Enjoyed three great sticks, the last being a gifted highlight - OR Double Edmundo which tasted like no other Double Edmundo I ever tried. Yum!Forgot to take a pic of my 2013 BRC in the heat of the moment.

Popular Post prodigy
At the lakehouse demoing my parents house for a full remodel. Can't beat the lakefront view while enjoying some great cigars. The cohiba siglo I have been hit or miss as far as being rolled too tight. Today's was perfect! Last night my dad and I split a 28 ounce kobe beef steak. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk
Popular Post JohnS
Cigars I've enjoyed lately... 1. Cohiba Shorts What a hit this purito has been. Whoever thought of this release truly deserves a medal. It's amazing how these capture the essence of Cohiba flavour time and again. 2. Rafael Gonzalez Perlas PMS Abr 2015 I've gone through 60% of the box since I've got them a few months ago (okay, so I've gifted out a few, they're great!). I simply love, love, love these mild cocoa, floral and honey perlas. I have no hesitation in having these regularly in my rotation, they're an under-rated wonder! 3. El Rey del Mundo Demi Tasse SGA May 2016 Another cigar that is good for a quick 20-minute flavoursome hit, I somehow don't think I'll let them get to the point where they rest for a significant period for the citrus/shortbread flavours to come to the fore and the toasted tobacco flavour to recede. Combined with a fruity 'tartiness' and floral undertones, if you've got a box resting away, then kudos to you, as I believe this is one cigar that greatly benefits from aging. Then again, I just like them young too. 4. Montecristo No.4 MAE Oct 2014 Thank God my brother-in-law bought a box of these recently and we shared some, these are just so good when on, the quintessential cigar you think of when the term 'Cuban twang' comes to mind. This Monte No.4 was from my personal collection, however, and some have been hit-and-miss lately. Some standard coffee, cocoa and tobacco flavours but missing that hint of nut and perhaps leather, even a little cream. Just do me a favour and don't buy these blind, like....ever! 5. Diplomaticos No.4 OPM Sep 2009 (thanks @Bster) I got some of these in a trade with Brendan, and this was the last one! I enjoyed it to the very last puff and nubbed it as far as it would go! A nice combination of cinnamon, nutmeg, light cocoa and sourdough, I, like many of you, wish that this cigar came back into regular production. Why leave the Diplomaticos marca with only one regular production cigar, the No.2? Yet, who am I to understand the mind of Habanos S.A? 6. Romeo y Julieta Seleccion Piramides 2003 (thanks @Trevor2118) This (and the Partagas Seleccion Piramides below) was gifted to me by Trevor to sample. I remember reading on the forum, when these first came out, that they weren't that great. Well, let me tell you, time can certainly mend things, and this was a pleasant light cocoa, cream and cherry surprise. I wish I could get these flavours from Romeo y Julieta cigars more often. I think I need to make a note to myself to age all my Romeo y Julieta cigars longer! 7.Partagas Seleccion Piramides 2003 (thanks @Trevor2118) Ok, so this Partagas Seleccion Piramides was not as good as the Romeo y Julieta Seleccion Piramides above, but it was still a very pleasant cigar. How would I describe it? It was like an aged Partagas Lusitania (think coffee, sourdough, a hint of cream) but with the pepperiness of a Partagas Serie D No.4 aged in the mid-term, you know, something in the vicinity of 3 to 5 years. Which made this cigar very interesting in its flavour profile. 8. Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo du Depute LAS Mar 2015 So I've had these a little under 3 months and they too have gone...but where? I think 70% of the box has gone, and I've gifted some for sure, but in the back of my mind I'm cursing myself because I know that the Le Hoyo series benefits from aging, that cedar quality mingles well with the creaminess, which you start to get after probably at least 5 years of rest. Still, cedar, cocoa and a little cream for some, and they make a nice mild smoke good for half an hour. They're just so easy to smoke, perhaps that's why I've gone through so many! 9. H.Upmann Magnum 50 2008 (thanks @Fuzz) Well, Fuzz gifted this to me and it's a little ironic that I rested it a little bit in my humidor and had it eventually at his place. How quaint! With 8 years on it I was surprised how much power it had. My notes suggested shortbread, toasted tobacco and stonefruit, still I think the Magnum 46 is a little stronger, but not necessarily better, just different, as it should be.

Popular Post BuzzArd
Another Epi 2 from that 50cab I've been working through. About 15-20 sticks in now, and this had been the first problemed child. Wanting to go to the river at this point.... First half was soft in the hand so I'm not surprised at the burn issue. Hope it corrects at the half.
