An RE Friday with @Nate Chu C&C for a Saturday morning with this Sir Winston from 03. Today is going to be great if this cigar is anything to judge it by. What a super smooth star

First cigar of the year.

C&C ‘14 especiales. Fantastic start to the day C&C with a Monte 4 C&C time today with a Perla picked up from 24:24

First smokes since Thursday - HDM DD - stellar! Then broke into my 50 cab of RASS from March 2011 - YES!!! So good that I immediately turned around and ordered another cab as the (totally unselfish :innocent: ) housewarming gift for my best friend

Monte Petit Edmundo - Really good, punchy chocolate and coffee, I have found the box I have a little up and down but this was definitely an UP.

I was sent to heaven by a Super Partagas - WOW! Extremely delicious every-day cigar surprise! Perfect!

NC experiments continue...

Tonight, a Padron principe maduro. Like the other 4 padrons I've tried, all I seem to get is leather.

I seem to get the same with every Padron that I've had. The flavor is pretty much consistent across the board for the Padron brand.

The Monte PE is a new favorite of mine. I need to get another box because I'm out, but instead of ordering more of what I LIKE, I order other cigars in hopes of finding something even better. This rabbit hole goes deep, real deep.

Hoyo de Monterey Epicure #2 from 06, fantastic cigar.

Nice! I just finished a HDM Epi 1 from 2006 myself. Nice and creamy with undertones of wood :2thumbs:

Had a fairly young Trinidad Reyes this evening. Thankfully I have one more in the humidor. Quite enjoyable

Thought I'd treat myself to a Siglo II last evening... LOL big disappointment. I really did not even get 2/3 of the way through before I tossed it. Man, I've been having some bad luck recently.

2007 SCDLH Mercaderes. Tasted totally different from the other sticks I have had from that box so far - very floral. Like lavender. Not unpleasant, but strange.

BBF and Upmann Half Corona with Strada last night at stogies...very interesting night indeed...

Monte 2 Especiale. Not so Especiale. Too windy. Too many relights. Gorgeous stick though. Cold aroma was chocolate.

'11 Party Short while walking the dogs- very nice and now an '09 898. Absolutely delicious. Tons of that Partagas spice. I can only hope that the recent production tastes like this in a few years.

One of the first CC's I have ever had. It was last year and need to get more. I really didn't know what I was smoking at the time and wish now I could have remembered it better. Just remember that it was a great smoke.

Mag 46 - and a custom roll from LCDH Stuttgart - both very nice, but the custom was even nicer :)

Rckymtn22 inspired me to crack open my box of PL Monte Carlos. Perfect draw. Perfect burn. Nutty, earthy, woody, gritty, with muted Moroccan spices. Some cardamon, and occasionally hinting at honey and licorice but never quite getting there. Not complex, but neither was it boring. Satisfying, simple, cheap.

This is not a cigar for your Thursday night Poker game with the boys - you need a fat boy for that. And despite its name this cigar, in my opinion, is nowhere near elegant enough for Monte Carlo (well at least as I imagine the place). This long and skinny is just rustic and gritty enough to belong on the porch of your log cabin out in the back country: to be enjoyed feet up on a rail, chair rocked back, surveying the expansive horizon before you. Highly recommended.

And yes Rocky, I wish it would warm up around here too.
