This past Saturday I found myself at Federal Cigar in Portsmouth New Hampshire. Picked an unbanded Tatuaje (roughly churchill sized, give or take) and made my way downstairs to the bar. I really, really considered taking a pic, but just could not bring myself to do it - apologies (I just don't do it in restaurants, bars, etc).

Very good cigar, a coupla' pilsners, chit chat with the bartender, a few other patrons.... Once again reminded of what a cigar can be, and not the first time I've literally felt the weight lifted form my shoulders and my body decompress.

I'm privileged to experience this feeling now and again, too. 20 minutes into a cigar, my body can just be totally rejuvenated.

Started with a custom Reynaldo Canonazo and after fighting with it for a bit I pitched it and grabbed a MUR JUN 12 RASS. Much better.

Had a shitty day, my truck broke down on me in the middle of traffic. God knows how much its gonna cost me but it had to be towed so the meter is ticking. Thank the Lord for a good friend who brought these to cheer me up.

The Encantos is so solid, this one (firsts from a new box) did not start out as I've come to learn but after a couple of inches got into that caramel sweet goodness and added a bit of spice at the end. Finished it of with a Opus 20th, first one for me. I've heard a lot of different things about these before but it was a pleasant surprise. Lighter than their regular production, more fruity than raisiny. Smokes great for a young cigar, I hate to admit. All drank with various beers and my home-aged cachaça.
