Mr.T Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Had a wonderful H.Upmann Magnum 50 EL 2005. I really enjoy these. They remain a very rich, smooth and refined smoke. I picked up notes of chocolate, vanilla and espresso. I'm going to have to work hard to keep my hands of the rest.
Puros Y Vino Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Partagas 898. Circa 2009. Excellent, from foot to head. Leather, coffee, spice, cedar. Very smooth and creamy. So good it had to be nubbed.
riazp Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 From memory the last week...Hoyo DD 03, Bolivar esp 2 german RE, Punch Punch, PSD4, RASCC, Boli gold medal, camacho pre embargo, and i'm pretty sure i'm forgetting a couple.
MrDowse Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Allones Extra Edicion Limitada 2011. A Monday night Treat
headstand Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Friday evening: a RASS that still needed to settle down - it found it's stride in the last third. Saturday afternoon: an ok Party Short. Saturday evening: a JL#1 that started off really nice but went sour on me after about an inch and a half - tossed into the fire pit. The evening smoke was rescued by a nice Monte #4. Sunday: Boli CJ before a steak supper. Finished off the weekend with a Q'D Corona which turned out to be the best smoke of the bunch.
Michel1968 Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Partagas Seleccion Privada #1 (2000)... woof... monumental. Remarkable ongoing citrus (mandarin) and earl grey tea in the background. Everything on top that a matured tobacco bliss of suave.
Bartolomeo Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 11 Monsdale...probably my favorite custom in last 12 months
nonameno Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Just came in from my sunny porch, even though it was kind of chilly! Loved this Bolivar Gold Medal... purchased here of course. Unwrapping it was kind of sexy... naughty, naughty Zoot!
brazoseagle Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 2006 H Upmann Mag 46 - Started out with a bad draw, but it cleared up perfectly and never effected the flavor. The flavor was floral and salted caramel!
Lotusguy Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Let's see - a nice Dip #2 in the afternoon (still prefer Dip 4 and Dip 5 over these), followed by an (as always) excellent RG PC. Then tonight a Parti De Luxe tubo which I hated and pitched half-smoked and replaced with a nice HDM Palmas Extra which is a really nice C&C
Strada Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Trini Reyes and watching Antiques Roadshow after a tough final exam
CigarAsh Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 naughty, naughty Zoot! That's too funny! Wonder how many people get the reference? Only my favorite movie of all time! "Spank me. No! Spank me. And then the oral sex? Well, I guess I could stay a little longer."
CigarAsh Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Have smoked several R&J Short Churchills from an Oct 11 box. Really excellent cigars. They truly have that lingering black cherry sweetness they leave behind on your palate. For me a great cigar is one that leaves behind an aftertaste that has me still craving more. Been smoking these to the nub after work - feel a little guilty not letting anyone else out of the humidor so far this week.
Dbone Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 I have not been impressed at all with about half of this box. That being said, this one knocked my socks off. So much cinnamon through the nose it was almost like I was chewing some Big Red gum. Another box plagued with horrible consistency, but this one was a winner LOL
Lotusguy Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Blind tasting cigar #2, followed by a Punch Punch (need to compare with the Coronas Gordas that I happen to have at home). Both pleasant.
Deodato Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Partagas 898 from September 09. Great aroma but... plugged! aaaaaargh.
Deodato Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Trini Reyes and watching Antiques Roadshow after a tough final exam I haven't had much joy with Trini Reyes but Curtis is one of my favourite Curtis albums... and I also display the cover
mk05 Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 fonseca consacos, ryj coronita en cedro, and a choix. great cigars to cap the night.
Munts Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Just had a Por Larranaga Encantos and what a mixed bag it was. First third was terrible and i was about to bin it. However the second and final thirds were massive improvements. Flavor really improved and became a lot more complex. Ending up being a delightful smoke.
Strada Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 I haven't had much joy with Trini Reyes but Curtis is one of my favourite Curtis albums... and I also display the cover Curtis is the man. I alternate covers of whatever I enjoyed lately. Its just a cool cover.
Mr.T Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Enjoyed a lovely Partagas P2 last night from an 2011 box. Lucked out with this box - beautiful dark, reddish hew wrapper on all of them. Burn and draw were great. Plenty of leather, spice and a sweet cocoa that lingered. Very nice.
cgarner Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Had a glorious 08 Punch RS #11 the other day. wish these were still around. Hands down the best cigar I've had in a really long time.
Ophidion Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Taking a small smoking hiatus till this cough goes away.. Yesterday was this: Followed quickly by this:
