Wil Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 R&J cazadores last night. Nice construction, perfect draw. Not as powerful as I expected. Leather, leather, then some leather. Overall, a very enjoyable smoke.
ramon_cojones Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Had a nice plugged cigar filled weekend in vegas. Plugged rass (09) followed by a plugged ra extra, this is my second extra I've smoked from this box and second in a row that was plugged so I tossed it. Then today had a plugged d4 (2010). Finally scored with a nice 09 898 from a box which I've had a couple dowels in as well. I am not convinced now that 08, 09 10 were free from plugs. You reading this prez?
vanbellc Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Had a HDM Epi 2 on Friday night which was fantastic and a Monte 2 on Saturday which was also great. Both from 2011 boxes and the burn was excellent.
brutusthebuckeye Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Hoyo des Dieux from 06.... Monte PE from 10.....
laficion Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 A nice Monday evening with a Woodford Reserve and a RA -LCDH Allones Superiores 2010. Not much more to add, wowww, Nice !!

Maybe an obvious question, but have you checked your humi? If the RH is running high, that could make all your sticks harder to draw...
ramon_cojones Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 My humidor is at 61-62% and these have rested 6 weeks since I've got them they're definitely not wet if anything they're dry because I dry boxed them for a couple of days since I went to vegas. Poor poor qc imho, you can tell just from looking at them they're packed to tight.
Dbone Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 If you're smoking cigars in Vegas, it'd be difficult to smoke them over-humdified. Its the desert and all...
Onsto Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Fair enough, just thought the question was worth asking! I tend to smoke mainly recent production (2008 to current) and very rarely encounter a plugged cigar is all.

I tend to smoke mainly recent production (2008 to current) and very rarely encounter a plugged cigar is all. And a good suggestion it was. I do agree QC and production standards are quite high. RC had a string if bad luck. A plugged Robusto I can't remember the last time that happen to me, mostly on PC's. I've had more than a few ultra tight 898 since '09.
ramon_cojones Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Fair question indeed, just annoying how I can't form an opinion on these damn extras yet will try again.
mbrody Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 08 HuP Connie 1. Burning my fingers...just a classy cigar.
