CigarAsh Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 HDM Des Dieux from 2003 - very nice!! Did you buy one of the boxes from the LFTH last fall? I bought one and have been underwhelmed by them so far. Smelled and looked absolutely amazing and have so far been a very bland, boring cigar. I'm not ready to give up on them yet - will smoke a few more before rendering final judgment.
Rushman Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Diplo #2 (been a while since I smoked a diplo, I really like this marca) followed by an A. Garcia Lonsdale. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.631697,-87.070712

I never actually bought a DD but I have traded a few and was gifted more. I don't think any of them were from Czar. Note that 2003 DDs are plentiful everywhere - must have been a HUGE year of production.
dB69 Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Just had a Boli GM STA AGO09 with Ferreira -07 lbv. Excellent, wonderful, terrific! Those cigars are really on at the moment, despite they are quite young.
Lotusguy Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Something unusual to start: Partagas Deluxe from pre-2002 (it was the machine-made version which was discontinued in 2002). I had picked up a single just because I wanted the old-style gold tube in my collection. In all honesty, I enjoyed it significantly more than the ones I've had from my 2010 box. Much smoother and less leathery, even though the draw was a bit loose. One ugly son of a gun, though... bumpy, veiny, terribly applied cap, crooked band, the works
riazp Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Last night I enjoyed my first Cohiba Sig VI (great smoke) and Partagas P1. Great evening smoking with Art and Simon. Exellent company many laughs and great conversations were shared.
hdryder Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 RYJ Escudos LE 2007. Very good cigar. Only a few left unfortunaly
Lotusguy Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Added a HDM Palmas Extra (my first) - not bad then a Boli 3 tubo (old tube - no idea about the date code) which was totally bland
partifan Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Party short from December '10. There was more twang in that cigar than most I've had in quite some time.
Rushman Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Enjoyed a Trini Reyes followed by an Upmann Corona Jr. Reyes started out a bit harsh but mellowed out in the first 3rd. Was also one or two notches too tight. The Upmann was nice but forgettable. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.631737,-87.070571
DougB Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Had a '10 Sir Winnie (PSP). First 2/3's were excellent, refined, and elegant yet strong and leathery as well, but the last 1/3's ammonia was roof-of-the-mouth numbing. Young cigars and I don't seem to get along in the last third.
chrismfontanot Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 just grabbed the last partagas short out of the humi to have with some afternoon coffee.
chrismfontanot Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Took advantage of a warm (almost 60!) sunny day here to enjoy this Party Short. Definitely time to order some more of these babies.
Lotusguy Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Nice and sunny out today so I enjoyed a Dip #3 which was great and a Punch Petit Coronations (old band and tube - not sure how old, since it was a single). That Punch was something else - hope my 2010 box eventually evolves into this taste!
Schumi5 Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 JL #1 today. Really enjoying these of late. Classic example of how good a lighter bodied cigar can be.
Rushman Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 PSD4 followed by a Boli Corona Gigantes. Both were excellent. Thanks to my "fave cigar band" thread I couldn't stop looking at the bolivar band and thinking man or woman......funny --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.631745,-87.070621
maverickdrinker Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 hamlet salamones today. Fantastico!!!!! 4 year old tobacco rolled 2 years ago. MMMmmmmm.........
joshua84 Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Having a good time now with a Ramon Allones Extra. If the Bolivar Royal Corona was cuppacino, this is a macchiato.
Lotusguy Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Closed the night with a La Aurora Vintage Salomones 2003. Very smooth and perfect burn. There ARE still some NCs that I enjoy. I really only picked it so I could empty the remainder of the box into my singles box to make space for incoming purchases
danistalking Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 just grabbed the last partagas short out of the humi to have with some afternoon coffee. I did the same last night. My last party short...nubbed it until I burned the pads of my fingers...I think I went through half a box of those in a month and a half...
