Mr.T Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Smoked a SLR DC (NOV 05) over the weekend and paired it with some lagavulin. Great construction and perfect draw and burn. It started off a little weak, but intensified a little before the half way mark. A little on the one-dimensional side, but a very pleasant and enjoyable two hour smoke.
Lotusguy Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Made it to LCDH Cologne today on my stopover on the way to Barcelona and couldn't stop drooling - they have a HUGE selection. Smoked an ERDM Lunch Club from 2003 which was great but not really any different from my ERDM PCs. Picked some goodies and will now smoke a Punch Margarita from 1998 Oh, and it looks like my quest is at an end - saw RG Perlas right at the Barcelona airport here - will finally be able to pick some up (latest on the way home).
BatFastard Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Currently enjoying a Mag 46 - ESP DIC 09, while doing some housework in the garage.
Dbone Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Another one bites the dust, this ones for Rushman. Here's to better days with better smokes
Dbone Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Currently enjoying a Mag 46 - ESP DIC 09, while doing some housework in the garage. I really enjoy my boxes of late '09 Mag 46
Rushman Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 As I type I'm enjoying a truly transcendent Upmann #2. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.630065,-87.069783
BatFastard Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I really enjoy my boxes of late '09 Mag 46 Agree with ya there Dbone! I think I've smoked 8 or 9 cigars from this cabinet and have yet to smoke a dud.
Lotusguy Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 VR Maestro RE Espana - very nice. Looking forward to the single Boli 108 RE Espana that I also picked up today.
riazp Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Partagas short Feb 11. These ALWAYS deliver. Just pure bliss
Rushman Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Currently enjoying an after brunch Siglo II. Not my fave marevas but I do love this vitola at this time of day. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.630113,-87.069708
Rushman Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 followed the siglo II up with a SCdH Officios. Smoking quite well right now.
Michel1968 Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Partagas Lonsdale 2002 (very well balanced) and Bolivar Lonsdale 2001 (quite hefty... based on this sample the box should be able to age for decades...)
Lotusguy Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Boli 108 RE Espana to close the night. Straight-on Bolivar strength, earthiness, and a fair bit of spice. I enjoyed it, but I like my BCEs just as much for about half the price.
Rushman Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Number 3 nd 4 stick of the day. A. Garcia Robusto (brother in law's factory) and Monte Edmundo. Just starting the Edmundo but it's nice. Robusto was very good. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.630128,-87.069787
Puros Y Vino Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Boli PC circa 2009. Very tangy citrus notes, some leather, some nuttiness. 3Celsius atop the Park Hyatt, great view, excellent cigar and fantastic company. Thanks Gary and Enis.
Bartolomeo Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Dip #4 from 09.......just love this brand and this size, enough said Upmann 1/2 Corona.....tasty but showed a lil youth towards the end....very enjoyable and well worth a box or two for me to grill with, coffee smokes, etc Look how small they are Here are some other treats that arrived today
Lotusguy Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Vegueros Esp. #1 - there's a reason why they were discontinued - terrible! RG Lonsdales (finally found a box in Barcelona but they were not stored well so I only picked up a single) RA Belvederes at the Gaudi Park - no loss that this machine made is gone. The park was spectacular!
cmcompto Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 HDM Epicure No1, mild-ish smoke, good for mornings. Oily wrapper, honey and light earth tones.
danistalking Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Had a Cuaba for the first time...turned out to be plugged as hell. I tried cutting lower but ended up cutting too much and the wrapper unraveled. I got a little past half. It was a pretty good smoke considering the pain in the arse plug..hopefully the other one I have doesn't have the same problem..

Rushman Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 PSP2 which was really nice followed by a genuinely enjoyable but not superb Cohiba Esplendidos.
dicko Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 H Upmann 46, pretty good. woody with hints of fruit and white pepper
danistalking Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 fairly standard experience from the Cuabas I've had..sadly I had the other last night and it was amazing..smooth, creamy, fresh ceder/wood, classic tobacco. The aroma off the cigar was great(roasted peanuts). I loved it. I almost jumped into buying a box but figure I should try a few more before committing to it. After reading a few reviews about them, it seems that its almost a toss up(more so than usual) with these with getting plugged sticks.
maverickdrinker Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Was inspired to smoke one of my last remaining 2001 EL Cohiba piramides. Amazing! 1994 monte especial no. 2 and a Cohiba BHK 54 to finish the night. Thanks to riaz and Simon for the fantastic company at stogies.
