Working on a box of My Father from 2013 (in 109 format!). Absolutely LOVE these smokes. There's something in there like spring rain on dried-out leaves - always an intangible quality to these I can't quite pick out. If anything, a dusty, savory note that reminds me of working in a barn during summer break in the Midwest (I've done that...). Sometimes you just can't predict what your favorite smokes will be...so stop trying! It's the unexpected journey that rewards more than anything else. Good night all!

Me too. The EPC Seleccion Oscuro and La Historia are both fantastic examples of great San Andres wrapped cigars. Haven't had the Short Run 2016 yet.

Yesterday was the Partagas Short. Today is another small one: H. Upmann Half Corona AUM Sept 14. This one is ok-- a little harsh, yesterday's Short seemed more balanced.

It is surprisingly good, and not just for the money: this was the first one of a "box" (tin) i recently bought so i do not have enough to conclude something, but this one smoked really good, with a nice balsamic tone; the construction was subpar and i had to adjust a couple of time with the lighter but i half expected that.

Round 1: Conn A from 13 and a Raptor Ridge Temperanillo from the same year.

Round 2: Partagas Short from 14 and a Palazzo Maffei Ripasso from 2013.
