Decent weather so I went with a large cigar this afternoon. First crack at the Magnum 56 and it did not disappoint, very good start to finish. I would gladly pickup a box if the opportunity presents itself and I had a little extra change in my pocket.

was it as sweet as others have described?

It was sweet, especially the inital inch. Considering it had an old label (discontinued 2009?), it still had legs to it. Best for the first stick of the day but very enjoyable.

It's been a while since I've had a RAS. One of those cigars I always enjoy but often overlook. Great pairing with this malty sweet Scottish style ale. Has kind of a dried fruit tasting finish that seems to bring out the berry fruit flavor of the cigar.

Tent peg number 1...RA Estupendos;

Tent peg number 2...Lusi;

Old reliable...Epi Especial. 

All three in my humidor @ 60rh/70f for over 6 months. Second peg out of the RA box.. first peg from an otherwise stellar box of Lusi.  Both had knots at the band.  Massaged, rolled, bit, then chucked.  Both a little too 'cuban' for me ?

Actually home in daylight on a work day and the weather's set fair - such a rare occurrence at the moment that I'm making time for a HdM du Prince. Take it while you can people, take it while you can.

March 2012 Superiores. Have struggled to like this cigar (mainly smoked it fresh) so I promised myself that this will be the last chance I give it. RA is my favorite marca so I really want to like it. Lets see..

Got a 2 from a great guy here.  1 was plugged and unsmokable.  The other is still sitting and I doubt it will be any better.  I am not going to smoke it any time soon and will massage it to no end to hopefully make it smokeable.  Not the originators fault and I thank him for the opportunity.  We will see down the road.

Bit of snow there Fugu?  Wish we had gotten some here this winter but no and Spring is upon us.  Great looking cigar!  May have to pull something out myself.

Actually smoked most of it indoors, Mike, but went out to enjoy half an hour outside in the sun, and to make that pic with a bit of that "white stuff" in the background. Snow and frost have been rare as hen's teeth this winter here as well (quite different to our friends in northern North America this year... ). Neither enough snow for cross-country skiing, nor enough ice for skating. It's a shame, as I do love me some honest winter.

Second one from the Punch Vintage Jar. Very mild. Pleasant, but I feel like they picked boxes that weren't stored perfectly to fill those jars.

The small club Corona was one of my least favorites when I bought this box last year, but the last 6 months have been good to these. Much better. Still not sure why my pics show sideways. 

 

I agree. I got 6 of these last year and they were ok but just had one yesterday in the morning while on a conference call and was amazed with the pleasant changes. Now wishing I bought the entire box.
