maverickdrinker Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 smoked a little opus X that was gifted to my by Riaz. Stong little cigar. Had to put in down after the first half.
mk05 Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Agree art. I find it hard to smoke the full bodied cigars anymore. Drooling and keeling over...not a good look. Haha maybe for the othet guys laughing at me. That said i cant wait to get out of the office to smoke a piramide freshroll!

rckymtn22 Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 An awesome H Upmann 46. Need to get another box of these.
Lotusguy Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Smoked the SLR Double Corona that was handed out as a generous gift from the Prez at the Montreal herf today. It was very, very good, even though I usually never go for DCs and won't be buying any of that vitola due to the length of time required to smoke them. It had an amazing copper-colored ash in the beginning - see picture.
mk05 Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 That ash looks sick. And that wrapper looks marvelous. Just got home after work and smoked a Fuente Anejo 55. Up and back at in in 5 hours. ugh
CBL Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Just finished a Partagas de Partagas No. 1. It was alright.
ramon_cojones Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Smoked a jl2 on the patio saturday morning and then an 06 sig iv yesterday which was good not great.
dB69 Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Just smoked a QdO Gran Corona -06. Sweet fruits and herbs with slightly creamy toasted tobacco. Delicious mild-to-medium cigar.
BatFastard Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 TUG ABR 10 - JL#2 - watching the review from the other day peaked my interest. Very nice smoke, lasted 45-50 mins. Perfect construction and burn. Thoroughly enjoyable. Lots of gingerbread. Smoked about 6 or 7 of these in total now and haven't had a bad one yet.

Lotusguy Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 PLPC from the Feb 11 "birthday cab" for my daughter. It was wild and unruly and needs to be put into a timeout After that a SLR Series A from 2006 which started out good but kind of faded with no evolution in flavor.
dB69 Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Smoked today a ten years old Hoyo du Prince which was maybe a bit overaged. Too "old woody" first half, but luckily some sweet creamy and honey like flavours came in on the second half. Smoked also a Party Salomones TEB NOV08. These are starting to get better from the mild state they have been earlier. The wrapper smelled really terrific - perfume full of citrus which followed on the background through the cigar. I'm starting to get drunk of all the portwine and cognac I've been tasting... It's nice to have a holiday, I call this a good life!
Lotusguy Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 JL Selection #1. It's OK, but not box-worthy. Thanks again, Mike, for allowing me to try them before putting down $$$ on a box
Dbone Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Smithy talked up the Connie 1's last year, I bought a couple boxes and have not been disappointed one time. It's Cuba wrapped up in a cigar, these really shine. Beautiful claro wrapper, on most cigars I do prefer the lighter shade wrappers as opposed to darker wrappers. They seem to have more bite I owe you one Smithy, and great selection Rob
headstand Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Been alternating between Parti Shorts and Principes this week. Smoked outdoors in the northern cold - the Parti Shorts hold up better to the over-quick smoking pace. Will save the remaining Principes for warmer days and slower pace.
Schumi5 Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Juan Lopez #1 tonight....wonderful cigar. Often overlooked but the lighter body and subtle, evolving flavours definitely work well for me. The size is bang on as well.
Bartolomeo Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 06 SLR Serie A.....stewed fruit, very good 08 Famosos......expresso, cane sugar Bart
chrismfontanot Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Managed to squeeze in a weeknight cigar in the garage, which is extremely rare for me during winter. It was a Trinidad Reyes (AGR MAR 11) and it was great. No harshness or bitterness whatsoever, just sweetness and that nice little coffee undertone. Down to about 4 left -A major priority will be to get more of these for the summer
Rushman Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Mediocre feb 09 bolivar royal corona followed by a great but young mid 2011 HdM Epi 2. Nice BOTL exchange with Mike (madandana). He brought me a mag 50 Tubo and he got an 08 SLR DC. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.631626,-87.070526
mk05 Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 BART sent me some QdOs and smoked them with friends. Great....errr TERRIBLE cigars. Dont ever buy them.
Lotusguy Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Closed the night with a 2006 RG PC - so yummy!!! (I am a RG *****, I'll admit)
mk05 Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 C, do you have more of those PCs? I have been scouring the earth for some.
ramon_cojones Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Smoked a pretty good upmann 2 from my 2010 box I got awhile back which was followed by a very good 09 rass. Buddy smoked an 10 cce and goddam that was amazing, got vanilla from it last night one of my favorite elements in a cigar. BHK 52 for him after that which I smoked as well which was great as usual.
