dB69 Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 ...and a Party Presidente -08 to finish the evening.
dB69 Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Had quite a cigar filled day yesterday at the opening of the Casa Del Habanos Amsterdam LGC Md'Or#3 - SC Muralla - Hoyo du Gourmet - Party Shorts - RG Cigarritos - Party P2 Let me assure you this is not something I do frequently but sometimes it all fits together: decor, people, drinks and conversation till far after midnight. Felt a bit 'raspy' this morning... WOW! I'm not wondering why you felt a bit raspy. Never smoked six cigars a day. Have to visit the new LCDH sooner or later.
Dbone Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Right off the truck, outstanding! Rum raisin and butterscotch, boy the aroma and smoke is like perfume. Cheers Rob
DougB Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 MGA May '10 Upmann no. 2. Smoked really, really well. Lots of well-rounded toasted tobacco and leather. Last third some ammonia still. Hoping that dissipates in the next few months or so.
Rushman Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 May 2011 Monte #5. Didn't want to aggregate the sore throat any more than I had to. Was very good. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.631773,-87.070758
danistalking Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Just had a RA Petit Corona and polished off the rest of a bottle of Cockburn's Late bottled vintage '03 port.
ramon_cojones Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Umm you drank something called cockburn? Dbone, one of my favorite sticks man haven't had one in so long.
danistalking Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Umm you drank something called cockburn? Sir, meet Canadian Gymnast, Karen Cockburn.
Guest rob Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Cohiba Genios.... seriously, what do people see in these things??? For the price - give me a Boli, RA or Partagas any day.
Rushman Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Cohiba Genios.... seriously, what do people see in these things??? For the price - give me a Boli, RA or Partagas any day. agreed but far, far superior to anything that starts "Montecristo Open....." --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.631594,-87.070642
Lotusguy Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 RG Petit Coronas from Nov 2006 - what a fantastic stick!!!
shrink Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Mag 48 EL. This stubby little cigar has got some balls on it. Strong, robust, and very flavorful. Good now, and should age beautifully.
Wil Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Just lit up a Punch Sabrosos. So far so good. Enjoyed it very much. Showed its youth in the last third - these are going to be great in a year or two.
CigarAsh Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Went to a Miami Cigar event at my local B&M so decided to try a Guillermo Leon signature. Really excellent non Cuban stick. Halfway through it reminded of a good Saint Louis Rey Regio. Bought a few more for the humidor. Can see these being a part of the regular rotation.
mk05 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Smokimg a viaje s&b #2 with bouron who is actually my locker partner lol. Havemt had a cigar this stron in a long tiem. Literally just drooled on my shirt. Oooy
ramon_cojones Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Had a nice epicure especial recent production, was sitting in humidor for about 6 mos bc my buddy said they weren't ready yet so finally sparked up today on the patio in my tank top with some tea. It was pretty strong, medium full out the nose and the 2nd third was impressive really enjoyed the whole stick.
maverickdrinker Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 nice cigar night. An 85 montecristo especial no 1. gifted to me by a great BOTL. Fantastic. An 06 cohiba siglo IV. Delicious in its own right.
mbrody Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Cheers Andy! Tonight, a 08 JL2. Just hits the spot. Love em'.
CBL Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 After having had a cold for a couple of weeks (like a lot of people here, from what I've read) I went all out this week with: - RA Superiores '11 Which was over humidified which caused various relights and a bitter end. - ERDM Demi Tasse '01 Great taste, but horribly tight draw. - Bolivar RC Tubo '09 Had been wanting to smoke this one for 6 months now, it was decent but nothing special. - SLR Serie A '07 Mild, smooth but absolutely no complexity in mine, plus I think my B&M charged me for a SLR Churchill..... So every cigar was pretty much underwhelming/disappointing, which I could blame the cold, but I had a RA Extra while I was still having serious sinus sores and it tasted amazing! Maybe I need a break from cigars for a while. Taiwan might be too humid to really enjoy them
Rushman Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Monte 4 from mid last year. It was ehh. All over the place and a slight bit bitter. Let it die peacefully mid way through. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.631689,-87.070643
dB69 Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Smoked today a very strong and punchy Punch Super Selection #1 -06. Very good, but needs some years as there was still some ammonia sensed in it. I wouldn't recommend these to a first timer - it could be called as a slaughter.
sighuber Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Last night was '08 Mag 46 paired with Glenmorganie the Original. Very enjoyable.
riazp Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Friday night I had a Quesada Espana which was a simply amazing smoke, one of the best nc's i've ever had, and follwed that up with a VR Petit Unicos 2009 Canada RE, really exellent RE. Nothing over the weekend.
