Zaphod42 Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 Tonight is a Cohiba Siglo IV POU OCT 13. An HQ box from the czar, first one I've tried from this box. A little tight on the draw, but Lovely! 2
Popular Post Lotusguy Posted December 3, 2016 Popular Post Posted December 3, 2016 RyJ Capuleto - picked up a single and smoked it right away. Pretty good start but the youth showed halfway through. Already more in my wheelhouse than the Dukes or the Deluxe ever were. Way too expensive to buy a box, though. Then a Punch Supremos RE which was very nice. Finally a CoSho. All in all a great evening in Stuttgart again. 5
BuzzArd Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 If I can't physicially be at Camp W., then I'll pretend.... Edit: Horribly under filled at the foot. I could fold it in half even after lighting. Discovered right at light when a tunnel ripped 1/2-3/4" down one side upon lighting. Gave it a squeeze and... Hoping it recovers, but feels a bit soft throughout though not as bad as the foot was....
westg Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 great box ...cant remember the box code ...2016 though 3

That being said, funny that I was smoking an Epicure #2 last night in the opening night of the Camp W. winter smoking lounge. 1
ethosan Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 Sometimes you get lucky A friend tossed me a RyJ no.2 tubo. never had really good luck with these and went in with 0 expectations. Holy crap, maybe the best stick of 2016. Thick viscous smoke tons of cherry and cream right off the bat coffee nuts spicy vanilla unbelievably complex masterfully constructed. 3

I put the box to sleep and won't mes with it for at least another 6 months. Storing my Famosos as well. They should be great smokes. I have a box that is March 16 and I have smoke two and "borrowed" two to friends and as much as I want it to be excellent...I agree with you rest does a body good. What date is yours?

I am currently smoking 2012's and they are off the charts. 4

What date is yours?LAU May 16 box. I'm no expert but I believe it will. To me it has a lot going on, that's just signs of freshness and needing time down. It's not a boring cigar. A boring cigar in my experience will not become exciting. I hope that makes sense.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
Popular Post BuzzArd Posted December 4, 2016 Popular Post Posted December 4, 2016 Finished that Epi 2 in record time. Easy to do when there's no leaf in it... Switched to this lovely SLR. Far superior construction. Lovely so far..... 5

Popular Post Akela3rd Posted December 4, 2016 Popular Post Posted December 4, 2016 VR Famosos from a recent FoH sampler. Smelt like a bar of dark chocolate, smoked with a sweet, bitterness over wood and walnut. Wow. 7
Cmelle Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 My first PLPC. Why have i waited so long to try one of these? Someone slap me in the face. This was from the 'Robs rotation sampler'. I'm guessing it was young. But it was so enjoyable. Not much caramel but a nice burnt brown sugar flavour. A bit rough, just the way i like it. Smoked like a dream. I'm glad i have a 50 CAB tucked away. 4
Popular Post JohnS Posted December 4, 2016 Popular Post Posted December 4, 2016 Cigars I've had lately... 1) Montecristo No.2 (OPG Jun 15) In my Top 10 of 2016, wow...these have been good. From a 10-count box, I've found favour with all of them. This one had everything you want from a Monte No.2, cocoa, coffee, leather, nut, tobacco, some cream. Thoroughly enjoyable! 2) Diplomaticos No.5 (EMA Oct 08 - Thanks Brendan) I got these in a trade with @Bster. I have to admit, they are a little different to the Diplomaticos No.4, a little stronger, and I've never had a Dip 5 with any cinnamon/spice approaching what I've enjoyed in other Diplomaticos cigars. Still, a nice minuto...some nice mild-medium wood, cocoa, nut and tobacco here. 3) Cohiba Lanceros (PFY Dic 05 - Thanks Trevor) Gifted by my dear friend, Trevor, what can I say? This was what you'd label a '95-point' cigar. Lashings of cream, spice, honey, grass, tobacco and a little tangy citrus. It's a pity I don't enjoy enough of these vitolas. 4) Bolivar Tubos No.1 (ULA Mar 15) The last of my Bolivar Tubos No.1. I love the vitola (a Coronas - 42 ring gauge x 142 mm, the same dimensions as a Montecristo No.3), but I'm not usually enamoured with the Bolivar marca, I find them too 'earthy'. Well, this one was a certainly unlike that, with strong overtones of cocoa mixed with wood, tobacco and floral notes on the edges. A true delight of a cigar, so under-rated! 5) Cohiba Espléndidos (PLM Oct 06 - Thanks again Trevor) Another '95-point' cigar because it was so mild and creamy, honestly, the 2 hours I spent on this was like 5 or 10 minutes! Coupled with honey, Cohiba grass and vanilla at times, this was another of those type of cigars one wishes they can have more often! 6) San Cristobal de La Habana La Fuerza (TOS Mar 16) Similarly to the SCdLH El Principe, I savoured the cocoa, coffee, tobacco and molasses flavours, only this was much more refined and milder. I look forward to my next one! 7) Quai d'Orsay Coronas Claro (Thanks Alex) Gifted to me by my friend Alex, @merc, this was a nice, light change-of-pace. Floral, Tobacco and a touch of citrus, I only wish there was more of that distinctive Quai d'Orsay citrus tang. Alas, there wasn't, but I'm still grateful and I enjoyed the change this cigar offered. 8) H.Upmann Connossieur A (LUB Oct 14) If only this didn't have tunnelling issues in the middle third, it could have been one of my best smokes of 2016! The first third was simply sensational, coffee, cream, cedar and shortbread, yet the middle was a litany of re-lights and overwhelming charred toasted tobacco. The final third was a return to 'normalcy', however, by then it was too late to categorise this smoking experience as a success. Let's hope the next one is. 9) Bolivar Belicosos Finos (PMS Ene 15) Again, I normally don't favour Bolivar as a marca, yet I have time for BBF's because when they a creamy they can be really, really good. Leather, coffee, wood, cream, cocoa and tobacco, this was such a pleasant turnaround from the issues I had with the H.Upmann Connossieur A I had above. Whilst I have no doubt that the next Connie A will most probably knock my socks off, this BBF was really good. 10

El Hoze Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 had to try one of these, needed one touch up despite all the care I could give (not a surprise), but this will be a good cigar. 1

clutch5150 Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Inspecting a recent arrival of new cab of Robusto's ALO JUN 13 with one stick having some battle damage it appears. Weird as all the others were pristine. Either way it's smoking wonderfully even with the dent, but did require a slight light touch up at the fender bender burn! 1
