LLC Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 My first Trinidad Reyes from a HQ box recieved earlier this month.
Lotusguy Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Flor De Cano something (don't know these very well) - it was OK
backslide Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Flor De Cano something (don't know these very well) - it was OK Smoked a La Flor de Cano Petit Corona from 2003 last week. I thought it was good
Lotusguy Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Smoked a La Flor de Cano Petit Corona from 2003 last week. I thought it was good It was too light for me - felt like there was no ligero at all. In contrast, I am having my first ever Jose L. Piedra (no idea what vitola) and it is actually quite nice!
headstand Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 This past week: HDM Epi # 2 was too much cigar for the blowing snow that started shortly after lighting. JL # 1 turned out to be a pretty good hot tub smoke. Monte # 4 this box has really improved with a year. Boli CJ deep rich complex satisfaction.
hardrock86 Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 First Monte 4...much better than I thought.
Lotusguy Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 No smoke for me the last two days due to travel
riazp Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Upmann Half Corona, very nice, while i'm very much enjoying these i'm not quite sure if i'd pick up another box, for the money I could get a box of BCJ's...
CBL Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 A RASCC TEB08 in the mountains of Taichung. Amazing scenery.
Orion21 Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Ramon Allones German Regional Pyramid Full from the stsrt with heavy Espresso, but by half time there is a raw sugar element in the finish. Very much enjoying it.
Lotusguy Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 EP Carillo EL 2010 at the B&M which was extremely enjoyable and now a BPC that is just outstanding (HQ, I believe)
LLC Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Robaina puro custom robusto. Very nice and almost a two hour smoke.
dicko Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 I smoked a Partagas 898 and a cao brasilia at the Perth-Herf last night
maverickdrinker Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 trinidad 40th anniversary to celebrate being selected to go to hawaii in may
jazzbass Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 A friend of mine was at the Partagas dinner last November and brought back home to Canada some cigars that were passed around that night.. I just finished a Piramides that was very tasty, smooth and balanced with a lot of sweet chocolate notes mixed with cedars. I have a few that I taste every 6 months or so and they're getting better all the time!!
77stoneblues Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 R&J Wide Churchill. Been holding off trying one for a long while. It was good!
Orion21 Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 A custom pyramid from our friend in HK. A couple of years has refined this cigar into an Upmann No. 2/Monte No.2 dream. It has been smooth as silk from the first puff. I dont want it to end. . .
riazp Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Well its 2 celcius no wind...so I threw on a coat and light up a party short. If winter were always like this I'd be a lot happier!
Lotusguy Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 2010 HDM Des Dieux. Definitely needs a few years but this one was pretty damaged in shipping and I didn't want the wrapper to flake off any more than it already had. Sitting on my back porch in a T-Shirt I just had to rub it in, Riaz

mbrody Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Splendid D4 after work. TGIF Andy, what year? That looks gorgeous!
SigloIII Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Behike 54. Great cigar but I don't think it justifies the price tag. I've smoked a 52 and a 54 and definitely prefer the 52.
Schumi5 Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Had my first Trinidad Robusto Extra from a Feb 11 box. Wow, simply a stunning cigar! Still young and some time will do it wonders, but the evolution of flavours was just spectacular. Takes you on a real journey. At times it had an amazing similarity to the Hamlet Custom Robustos he was rolling here in Canada lst year. Not a cheap cigar for sure but based on this first example well worth the money which is something I have not been able to say for some of the offerings from the other 'premium' brand (Cohiba). Definitely looking forward to seeing how these evolve as I think they have all the components to age this to a real classic.
