mattdivo Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 About to enjoy a RyJ Coronita en Cedro - my first ever. I'm partial to the Partagas Shorts and Bolivar Corona Juniors, but thought I'd give this short stick a try. Too cold outside to enjoy anything larger! M.
Rushman Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Partagas day so far. PSD4 and PSE2. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.630182,-87.069823
Lotusguy Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Second day of not smoking - just didn't really find the time.
dB69 Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Been sick for almost two weeks and have not been able to smoke any cigars. Now I'm training my mouth and nose to accept cigarsmoke with a delicious Trinidad Reyes. Life is winning at last, I think!
Lotusguy Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Smoking an absolutely KILLER RASS with coffee - I am blown away. 50 cab just moved to the top of my "to buy" list!
maverickdrinker Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 My house Slomo sounds like the 2 of you had a very BROmantic time. LOL
KWG116 Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Bolivar Corona Extra 1999 These are part of the "sale" cigars I purchased a few years ago. This box has gone from ok to excellent over the years. This one was close to excellent. Haven't touched them in about two years and the rest was good for them. Very bolivar-esque. Med to ful with nice spice. Sad I only have a few left and never purchased a new box before they were gone. Now hopefully my other sale cigars will be good.
Dbone Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Today I fried some chicken, had a RASS. The RASS was rolled bad so the first half was off, but the second half corrected itself and was spot on.
kiwiman911 Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 smoking a monte 2 did not enjoy the last one I smoked, I think I'm starting to dislike this format(pyramides)will see how this one does...
dicko Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Had a couple of close friends over to my humble deck last night- I had ... Punch coronations (? date) - simple tubo petit corona, some pine needle and earthy tobacco, medium bodied. 84 Bolivar coronas extra (2010)- opened with honey and vanilla, eased into white pepper and tobacco, slight menthol flavour last 3rd. 89 Bolivar coronas junior (2007) - another dud from a dud box, some simple tobacco and sweet earth characteristics. 81 We had a couple of good winess too- an Argentinain Malbec 2007 (Terraza ?) - violets and plum, juicy berries and some dusty tannins. 92 and an Australian Barossa Valley Shiraz (Pepperjack) - black pepper and red berries, tasty but uncomplex. 89/90 The Malbec was the better wine but the shiraz pehaps matched better with the cigars, slightly fuller bodied. Good night!
riazp Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Gurkha Centurion. First Gurkha I have ever tried. Most likely the last... Wow Shlomo, you felt like self torture was in order last night eh? I was at a birthday party for one of my wifes friends last night and I had a partagas short with some Pinot noir. not the best cigar/wine pairing as the cigar overpowered the pinot...I feel that a lighter cigar like a El Principe would have paire much better. Oh well still a solid cigar and a great wine.
Strada Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Boli CEs are not gone. There are still boxes around. Quai D'orsay Imperiales just now. Just ok. Have 3 left and somebody who appreciates them more than me will get them soon. I am interested in those Shlomo, sent you a message on facebook I had a Upmann Sir Winston with a friend yesterday afternoon, my first and it was GREAT! I might want to buy a box in the near future.<br class="Apple-interchange-newline">
LLC Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Finished up my week in Las Vegas yesterday with a Hamlet custom in Rumbar watching the afernoon NFL game. Wild game - great cigar.
brutusthebuckeye Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Upmann Connie 1...PSP box from 08.....
Lotusguy Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Monte #2 from 2009 with some Glenlivet 15 - a very satisfying combination
CBL Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Just had a PL Enchantos, my first one. Started amazing and even though it ended a little "young" and bitter, it did show off it's PL sweetness. Overall a nice smooth and mild cigar that should develop some richness over the next few years.
Rushman Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Boli Corona Gigante --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.631782,-87.070821
