headstand Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 A Hoyo weekend: Palmas Extra on Friday benefited from dry boxing and a very slow smoking pace. Epicure #2 on Saturday night that also benefited from dry boxing - lots of smoke and rich flavor.
Pilgrims Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Weekend saw two smokes: Partagas Short (as good as ever), R&J Short Churchill, second of these I've had and both have been very good. I don't smoke a lot of R&J but may be I should!?
aavkk Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 This morning I am enjoying the king of all cheap and cheerfuls... an 06 PL Panatella. Way too rich and meaty for $3.
riazp Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Great pic Riaz. Have not tried the petit Edmundo myself, but I quite enjoyed the regular Edmundo. Why I haven't gotten a box is beyond me. Started off with an Upmann Mag 46, tasty little bugger though I've got to say, on the whole, this box has been quite troublesome, but such is life. Finished off a BBF from Nov 10 a bit ago, really enjoying those. I know I've got at least one more in me...choices choices. Joe Joe, great thing about the monte PE is that you can get it for reletivaly cheap by buying a 10ct box, thats what I did, bought a 10ct HQ box off lfth. That cigar was a 92 for me last night, perfect burn, no touch ups needed, no relights, 65 min smoking time (yup really took my time and enjoyed this little bugger) would have been a 94 if the last quarter was not so harsh. still amazing smoke, pick up a box for sure
Rushman Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Due to cold, first cigar in 3 days last evening. Smoked a SLR DC from an 08 50 cab. Good but strangely light for first half and only medium for second half. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.631570,-87.070476
riazp Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 BPC tonight, may 2011 HQ box, great first 2/3rds, last third was pretty rough, showed its youth, not as good as the first two from the box, needs some resting time now me thinks. still very good none the less
El Presidente Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 Thread unlocked (may have been accidental although it has Ken written all over it ) "let the Pigeons loose!"
cckandb24 Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 09 HDM Des Duiex. Amazing... my favorite viotola so far from HDM
Rushman Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 08 Trini Coloniales --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.631664,-87.070636
Lotusguy Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 I also had a Trini Coloniales but I committed a fatal mistake by smoking it straight after I had it in the cold in my jacket and the wrapper split all the way through Smoking a Boli Royal Corona in my hotel room now - gotta just love Vegas
ckgdrums Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Tonight after work, I'm gonna try my 2nd ever Partagas Serie D No.4.... the first one was about 2 weeks ago, right after I received them.
Dbone Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 I've had something of a 3 week long cold. A sore throat, changed into a head cold, which changed into a cough... Finally feeling better and it's nice to be back in the saddle. Last couple days had a little bit of time to smoke a PC Del Punch and one of Robs great Monte 4's. Both excellent, the Punch PC are really coming around and smoking great.
AntiVirus Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Had my first RASCC from a NOV 10 box, really great short smoke, wish it could have lasted longer!
ckearns Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 I met up with a few of the Toronto folk last night and had an absolutely brilliant cigar that was gifted to me by Orion. The cigar was a Pete Johnson custom roll and it was a magnificent smoke from start to finish. The cigar was oilier than any one I've ever seen and had a pigtail cap and unfinished foot (not sure what you'd call it). Thank you for the experience!
Lotusguy Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Casa Fuente Lancero - very nice! Riaz, I picked one up for you, as promised
cckandb24 Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 a horribly plugged JL PC from my first order of CC singles when I discovered Czars. tossed it after 1 minute of sucking my brains out, then lit a BRC which was out of this world
CBL Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Just had a great QdO corona, these are coming along nicely. Great burn, perfect draw and lots of rich smoke. Mild and spicy, it was the perfect cigar for the afternoon. I have a PL Enchantos in the drybox which I hope to smoke later. Might do a review of it if I remember to write down some notes and take some pictures (I'm on winter break so all my smoking is done in between Gears of War 3 gaming sessions so my mind is a little warped )
SigloIII Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Fuente 858. Wonderful as usual. I dont know how this line doesn't get more praise. SO very underated. Couldn't agree more. The 8-5-8 maduro and the Cuban corona are two of the few nc's I reach for when in a pinch
riazp Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Casa Fuente Lancero - very nice! Riaz, I picked one up for you, as promised Thanks Claus! Last night I had a Upmann mag 46, it was a very nice smoke, and then had a RASCC with a glass of Legendario (thanks simon!) very nice evening with my buddy strada putting the final touches on the Montreal Herf.
sg1234 Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 1981 Monte Especial. My 2nd and last. It started out a little too mellow but it has picked up nicely.
riazp Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 upmann half corona this afternoon...great smoke seriously. Tonight going out with some buddies, a PSD4 will come along for the ride.
Strada Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 As Riazp stated, we had some legendario last night with some Unibroue whisky microbrew Trois-Pistoles and Raftman I believe. I smoke a 09 BCE and 10 BBR. Both excellent!
