ethosan Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 1964 padron principe maduro (2011) I really think the broadleaf overpowers the profile, but it's a good cigar nontheless. Think I might start Marco polo season 2. Has anyone watched it yet? 2
gweilgi Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 One of my last smokes of that box ... well worth the wait. 4

No question the Jager does overwhelm the cigar flavors on the palate but I love Cigars and I enjoy Jager and I do pair them together not always but from time to time.

Popular Post Lotusguy Posted August 5, 2016 Popular Post Posted August 5, 2016 My first PL Opera. Had to wipe off a little white mold, as it's so often the case with cigars purchased in France. Great first two thirds, then started showing its youth and burned hot. I'm looking forward to my next one. 5

Popular Post JohnS Posted August 5, 2016 Popular Post Posted August 5, 2016 Cigars I have enjoyed lately... 1) Partagas Culebras (Thanks Kam!) It's common to think that because they look ungainly that they are a throwaway smoke, but nothing could be further from the truth. I think of them as stronger than a Partagas Shorts, but not a spicy as a youngish Serie D No.4. 2) Diplomaticos No.2 (TOS Dic 15) I don't have to convince how good these are, after all, you know already! Shortbread, cinnamon, almond, yet a little grassy on account of its youthfulness, still this was a nice way to enjoy a sunny weekend winter's afternoon! 3) 2008 Punch Diademas Extra Edicion Regional Italia (Thanks Trevor) Trevor Leask gifted me this over a year ago and I was saving it for a special celebration, so I took it with me to a U.S. Independence Day July 4th Celebration party. Tobacco, Cedar, Nut, a little spice...yes, this was an archetypal Punch cigar, all 2 hours of it! 4) Rocky Patel Hamlet Tabequero Robusto (Thanks Adam!) I think that there's been much praise for this cigar on our forum and I sincerely hope my words do not diminish the accolade it deserves. A beautifully complex Non-Cuban, very strong, yet not bitter and tarry, like a powerful Ramon Allones Specially Selected (but a different blend of course). In the same way you could enjoy a guitar record with distorted sounds that aren't muddy, this is a powerhouse that you can take the time to savour. 5) Cuaba Diadema (Thanks Trevor!) Discontinued in 2013, I'm honoured to have sampled this. I found this a little fuller than your standard Cuaba Distinguidos, with similar tobacco, nut, spice flavours. 6) Montecristo No.5 (AUM Jul 14) I'm in love with these, that's all I need to say. A 35 to 40 minute ride of wonder, adventure and ecstasy. This just balances cocoa, coffee, leather and toasted tobacco so well! 7) La Gloria Cubana Medaille d'Or No.4 (Thanks Steve!) I haven't had one of these for a little while. Fantastically complex, but best smoked slowly, this had notes of leather, earth, nut, tobacco, pepper, floral and fruit. (It's) Understandable why this is a forum favourite. 8) Trinidad Reyes (RMU Ago 15) Not as smooth and flavoursome as my previous Reyes from the box, nevertheless some interesting hints of coffee, wood, honey, grass and tobacco. I still look forward to my next one! (Bring it On! ) 9) Cuaba Divinos (TOS Mar 16) Is FOH (Friends of Habanos) the only on-line cigar enthusiasts forum that acknowledges that these even exist? If you are into 30 to 40 minute shorter cigars, get this and give it a try! Leather, wood, nut, tobacco and shortbread...yes, typically Cuaba, yet I will hold off a little while from sampling my next one until this rests a little longer. 21
