riazp Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 15th anniversary party at stogies , a local cigar bar in montreal last night. started off with a dip 4, exellent as usual. then I had a Partagas SDC 1, just wowed me, then finished off the evening with a BBF, solid solid smoke. Great evening with great company, the shlomer, Kiwi who's wife won a box of BHK's! This morning, i'm so smoked out...I think i'm done for the weekend LOL

I only got a fiver and unless the next stick is great, these are getting tossed into the trade or give to friends pile... Followed with an ERDM Choix Supreme (Thanks Riaz!!). Lotusguy Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 RyJ Duke thanks to Myles. Draw was a bit open even though I just used a small punch. Not used to such large ring gauges anymore. More spicy than what I would expect from an RyJ. Did have quite a bit of the typical "LE cocoa/chocolate". Probably won't pick up a box since the vitola is a turn-off and I already have enough Monte LEs with that cocoa/chocolate flavor in the GE and Sublimes. First smoke after 5 days of a cold

headstand Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Friday night: HQ Monte # 4 from MAR 10. Paired with a Rioja and minus 20C. Yes that's right -20C. A cold night in the Rockies. BTW, the Monte was stellar despite a rather quick smoking pace. Saturday night: Boli CJ paired with single malt and minus 18C. Yes that's right -18C. A heat wave in the Rockies. BTW, the Boli was pretty good but suffered some harshness due to the quick smoking pace.

I noticed that after 2 days in the humidor (this was not put in with the rest of the bunch in the freezer) there is some added sweetness to it (and a slight caramel to the aroma. On the other hand, there was the addition of spice and roast(a little) which I didn't noticed in the first BRC that I had right out of the box. Overall, a more flavourful cigar.
