thechenman Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 04 cohiba lancero to start the vacation..... Nice...
thechenman Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 RACF - man, these are good! Don't be scared - not overly strong. Sounds like they mellowed out pretty quickly. I remember them packing quite a punch upon release.
IcedCanuck Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Smoked a RASS during lunch and it was very tasty.
Bartolomeo Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 2010 Regios....very good for a freshie 2008 Opus X Robusto.....pretty good but for the money the Opus command i will choose a Cuban any day Bart
Lotusguy Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Had a fabolous Monte #3 after the RACF last night and started out my after-lunch break with a HDM Du Maire from '99 - totally HDM but concentrated like an Espresso versus coffee
Bartolomeo Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Brickhouse Robusto. First one that plain ol' sucked...should have gone CC after a highly frustrating day where everything went wrong. Including the cigar of course... I love the Brickhouse line as my fav NC Sorry to hear yours sucked Bart
Skitalets Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 This is waiting for me after work. Is it 5:30 yet? :-)
Lotusguy Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Added an RASCC after the Du Maire. It was great with no construction issues this time. Wonder how they taste with some age....
headstand Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 H Up Mag 46 - RAS MAR 10 - HQ Box Peppery heat to start with but settled down into a rich medium full smoke after the first half inch. Creamy dark, thick smoke with roast coffee bean, nut, and sweet spice overtones. The very promising start turn awkward for more almost half of the cigar due to a persistent tunnel right down the middle: too much hot smoke, too much air. Eventually burned trough it and the cigar went back to a more even paced burn and full rich flavor experience. The youth started showing at the nub with a bit of metallic zing. The construction issues aside, this would have been a 90 cigar. As it was, an 85 at best. Still, it shows promise for the rest of the box.
joshua84 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Really enjoy the Trinidad Reyes from Czar. This is definitely going to be my daily smoke (if budget permits). Had one right out of the box when it arrived and was still good. Uncanny smoothness. The 2011 batch might be a good one. Will need to get a couple more boxes. Having a Monte No. 2 right now. This may be my weekend smoke from now on. Haven't had it for a while, almost forgot how it tasted like. Again a 2011 production and despite its young age (younger than the reyes), nice burn, creamier and more caramel than what I remembered the last time. I find the flavors ( you name it, the cocoa, coffee, cedar, hay & etc where none overpowers the other) much more balanced than the H. Upmann Mag 46 which was to be the weekend smoke. Happy smoking guys. [update] Towards the last third of the Monte No. 2, a sudden punch of spice and bitterness came from nowhere and slowly died off. Ended with a numb mouth. It seems undeniable now that it needs aging. Looks like my hunt for the weekend smoke will continue.
goalie204 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Trini Robusto Extra. I'm really starting to think the only vitola worth the coin in this marca is the Reyes. Maybe the occasional Coloniales also. The bigger sticks just don't do it for me... There's a little thing called age, it does wonders for many cigars Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
headstand Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 RyJ Coronita en Cedro. If the H. Upmann Mag 46 I had earlier was a croissant with butter, then the Coronita would be dry toast. Still, with a belly full of much rum and coke - not bad.
dB69 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Party SdC#2 this evening. Excellent. And now heading to a party at friend's place...
riazp Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Monte petit edmundo sep 10 czar HQ. Exellent smoke, this little guy was ON! Perfect smoke while out with my son and wife for a walk.
terrykelly Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Siglo VI: Have not been disappointed yet. Monte #2:One of my favorites with my limited history smoking Habanos!! Partagas D #4: Batch I have starts out a little spice pepper and then 5 minutes in smooth as silk.
bolivr Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Bolivar Gold Medal from a 10 box POS Feb07. Powerful smoke, a further 2 years perhaps and they might be right on.
LLC Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 enjoyed a January 2007 Cohiba Siglo IV on a great afternoon outside.
TonyV Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Right now a Cohiba robusto ,from the Czar splits.Young but still tasty..
DougB Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Padron 1964 in the a.m. and an 06 Cohiba Esplendido this afternoon. Very enjoyable.
Lotusguy Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 BPC - trying to figure out if it's worth paying $1 more per stick for a 50 cab over dress boxes... Really, really good - as usual!
riazp Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 I was going to light up a psd4 till I saw Lotusguy post about the BPC...and talking about it in the shoutbox...WOW..am I glad I light this one up...now i'm just kicking myself more for letting tha PSP box in this weeks lfth go...Oh well guess i'll wait for an HQ box to pop up.
Dbone Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Had an exceptional RASS yesterday. This box is from April 08, and seem to only get better with time. Peanut butter, cream, with a sharp leathery spice/kick... a tasty long finish.
Lotusguy Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 PL Montecarlo to close out the night. Really like those C&C! My cold has fully kicked in overnight so due to lack of sense of smell/taste, won't be smoking anything today.
KWG116 Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Punch RS 12 Oct09 Went digging in Humidor and came across this box I bought last year for a steal. Excellent cigar. Had that sour punch taste that I love. Best cigar I have had all week although the 2010 BBF was damm good Friday. I have a few boxes of 98 coronas that are good but this is even better. I'm rethinking about a 50cab of punch punch. A good punch is so underated.
Pilgrims Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 My first H.Upmann Connoisseur No 1 this evening, great smoke, balanced, mellow, leather and tea, great size too, will buy more
