I always smoke one ROTT to get an idea of what a sticks potential is, or maybe I'm just impatient and have no discipline! Seriously though these will smoke really good in about 30 days and won't require a lot of aging to enjoy. I think I'll dry box one for a few days and give it another go then wait a few weeks before trying another. But the problem is that both French RE's are dull smokes. I will give the Por Larranaga Opera a second chance in a few months though. Good, aromatic, delish short smoke. Still lively. - Nice. - Mag 46, TMO DIC 06 - Plain dead. Tossed after less than half smoked (should have done earlier, but wanted to check). No taste other than cigarette-ashtrayish. Is this the poor cigar/tobacco? Just a single dud? Or has it been poor storage? (not aged by myself, B&M-find). First of a part box with single banded 2006es together with four A-banded 2005s). One of the worst experiences - Disappointing. - My first RA Club Allones (fired one up directly following the Mag 46) - good cigar, but wasn't in my wheelhouse. Underwhelmed after all the raving reviews here. I'd attest it good quality and potential, yes, but perhaps just not for me. Will have to give it another try - Unsure. - Hoyo des Dieux ASB MAR 07. Great, and still going strong - Worth it. - A second Don José, Italia. Certainly similar in profile to the first, but with a much younger touch (mongrel, I'd say) this time. Strong, full bodied, deep with marked rough edges. Some wrapper burn issues, even some youthful green capsicum notes. Full first inch coming along with a lot of intense oil explosions, each draw sizzling and crackling.Interesting, to say the least, after the first one, couple of weeks back, having appeared much more mature and mellow. Do we have to correct and see this one starting to close down now? Perhaps needing more time than initially assumed.
