j0z3r Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 H. Upmann mag 46, amazing cigar Couldn't agree more Riaz. I received a box yesterday from the czar, a lowly pe box that finally found its way home after a month travelling the globe. Even fresh off the truck the first from the box was good, with just a day of recovery time the one I'm finishing now is even better. I have high hopes once they truly settle, but if they didn't get any better I would be happy with them still.
headstand Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 JL#1 first one to disappoint from this box - flavors were disjointed. Boli CJ offered a nice recovery from the JL#1. A new PE box from Czars that must have just missed the HQ threshold. Thanks guys.
JuniorSmoker Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Had a RASCC from 2010 for the afternoon coffeee and was very nice. Now I'm in the process to decide what to do in the evening...let's see...maybe one of the nice Hoyo de Dieux from 03 ?
Lotusguy Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Monte #3 last night - hopelessly plugged! Had to ditch it after a few puffs and trying with a draw poker
mm12 Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 08 Magnum 46. Medium bodied, maybe just under. Smooth and subtle. Earth, chocolate, caramel, cinnamon, nutmeg.
Lotusguy Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 RG Panetelas from 2003 - a little wild and unruly but very enjoyable - ordering another box right now, before they are gone forever...
Dbone Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 After about 2, no 3 weeks, or whatever... seems like a lifetime of being diseased with one form of the common cold to another I fired up a VR Famosos. And it was great
JuniorSmoker Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 It was a Hoyo des Dieux from a 50ct from 03 last night and it was really great. Now I'm looking for a smaller smoke with the afternoon coffee..maybe it will be a Partagas Short from the cab. Normally they don't disappoint me Edit: Did not smoke the Short...just to busy in the afternoon but had instead a nice Bolivar PC in the evening after a nice dinner with friends.
Habanos2000 Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Just enjoyed an 08 PSP Mag 46. Solid 94 and tons of flavor. Man I need to find another box like this one!
LLC Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 In the middle of a RASS that is smoking great. Having it with an 06 Monticello reserva red win from Spain.
riazp Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Reyes for me tonight after a great dinner out with my wife and son
Lotusguy Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Trini Fundadores from 2006 - extremely smooth!! Paired with a new Costco Macallan 15 release which is also very good, especially at about half the price of the Fine Oak 15
LLC Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Monty Petite Edmundo from Mar 2010. Di good I had to burn my fingers.
Lotusguy Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Monte #3 - it's trying to make up for the plugged one from this weekend...
BMWFan Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 La Gloria Cubana Medialle No. 4 from 02. Delicious!
maverickdrinker Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Trini Fundadores from 2006 - extremely smooth!! Paired with a new Costco Macallan 15 release which is also very good, especially at about half the price of the Fine Oak 15 tell us more about the costco macallan 15. How much is it? Did you like it? Worth picking up?
coneatty Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 2/3rds of the way through a '09 PLPC. I don't know what it is with me. Like the many others from this box, I think it is "OK" but nothing more. Gave one to a friend yesterday, and he thought it was one of the best cigars ever. What the hell is wrong with me?
