Popular Post Redgoldband Posted October 23 Popular Post Posted October 23 First time with MTC #4. I see why this stick is so well liked. Twang, cocoa, chocolate, and cinnamon. A very smooth and delightful smoke had at 4a with cold brew coffee. Will be getting more of these for sure. 26

Popular Post Greenhorn2 Posted October 24 Popular Post Posted October 24 Let's get this day started with a BUP OCT 2019 Lusi. She might not be pretty, but she's definitely good. A @Redgoldband inspired JL 1. A lot of people state that there's a slight flavor nuance between these and the #2's. It's night and day difference between my #1's and 2. 23

Popular Post Redgoldband Posted October 25 Popular Post Posted October 25 JL1 from our host. Great draw and good smoke output. Just wanted a bit more flavor-wise from this stick. Working lunch where I got at both of these. PSP2 and Principe. Both from our gracious host. Whew! Both were so spicy! They need more sleep. Over the next few months, I’ll be focused on acquiring more sticks that perform well young, like HDME2s, JL2s, MTC4s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 23
Popular Post SirVantes Posted October 25 Popular Post Posted October 25 This tastes like a RASS with a sweeter mid-palate. And there’s a note that reminds me of dried longan, which is a thing in Asian cuisine. Really enjoyable. 20

I think the 1 is more complex and nuanced while the 2 is more punchy and one dimensional. 8

The JL1 was a good smoke but wasn't giving me anything flavorwise that made it stand out. What the JL2 lacked in transitions, it gave me everything in the realm of that sweet Cuban mildness. It made my palate say, "I can't name all the flavors I'm tasting, but this thing sure is good!" My first JL1 was like an irresistible brioche sweetbread. I have yet to get that again from subsequent JL1 sticks, so I'm excited to explore the JL2 route a bit more.
