brutusthebuckeye Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Steinbrenner bought another title!!!!!! Congrats anyway.....i just love Oct/Nov baseball....even if the Yankees win....
BolivarSmoker Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 The trophy is back where it belongs! All is right with the world! Matsui was great but kind of wish Mariano wouldnhave got MVP. It gets no better than him. Great player and a great guy too.

thechenman Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Steinbrenner bought another title!!!!!!Congrats anyway.....i just love Oct/Nov baseball....even if the Yankees win.... It's not easy to buy another title...especially with revenue sharing. The Yankees pay, some would argue, more than their fair share of it.
ucla695 Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Mariano was good last night, but Matsui's 6 RBIs were the deciding factor... Yup. It would have been nice to see him hit for cycle!
thechenman Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Hey Yankees, choke on it. tsk...tsk...tsk...
KB24 Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Hey Yankees, choke on it. HAHAHAAHH agreed 100%. Baseball in general should choke on it!
stonlea Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Lets go YANKEES !!!!! Yankees parade tomorrow at 11AM - lower Broadway to City Hall. Time to take a day off from work!
BolivarSmoker Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Mariano was good last night, but Matsui's 6 RBIs were the deciding factor... Matsui went off that's for sure, but Mariano was virtually untouchable (only a few hits scattered here and there) throughout the series. Could have gone either way as far as I'm concerned.
jquest63 Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Way to go Yankees! The trophy finally resides where it belongs!
DocRKS Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 There have been 105 World Series Fall Classics played in the history of Major League Baseball... The New York Yankees made it into the finals for FORTY (40) of those 105 World Series.... The New York Yankees WON 27 out of the 40 World Series they played in.... That is an amazing record for an amazing organization..... The rumour is that their Manager who wore Number 27 on his Uniform this year will be sporting Number 28 next season....... .....as they say....if you can make it happen...it isn't bragging !!! BTW - after the Yankees - with their 27 World Series titles - the next team in total World Series wins is the St. Louis Cardinals.... They have 10 World Series Crowns to their credit..... Let's go Yankees....... XXVIII in 2010 !!!
jaylax5 Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 Great job Yanks...what's amazing is that Matsui only played in 3 of the games. He was stellar last night, but Petite was 4-0 in the playoffs and Mariano was also outstanding. A-Rod tied the post season RBI record and Jeter batted .400 in the WS. It could have gone a few ways, but Matsui left the last impression. In any event, the Yanks are the World Champs once again. Bravo.
