Besides the young cazadores and young BBF's I had years ago, the strongest cigar I have had was a Trinidad Reyes, believe it or not. My wife was smoking it and after 3 or 4 puffs she said it was too strong for her and damned if she wasn't right. But it had flavor, tons of flavor too, spicy and rich with a dark coffee character. Left me spinning though.

Other than that frankly the current Habanos have not been that strong.

Bolivar Gold Medal first ones, Wolters ones to be clear. They where really a hit!

Agreed! Those are fine cigars. The BGMs from 06 & later are not even close to the Wolters release. Wish I had more!

I smoked a LGC Medaille d'Or #1 Sunday after brunch and got a real nicotine buzz. The cigar really built to a strong one at the last third. Surprising to me, but the time of day may have had something to do with it. I normally smoke only after dinner.

Another cigar that made me physically a bit dizzy was PSD3 from 2003.

But there's a difference between a nicotine kick and "harshness" in the mouth. For the latter, give Joya de Nicaragua Machitos a try. Mouth kicking cigars, those.

Got a pretty bad case of the spins from a Bolivar Gold Medal a month ago. I smoked a cigar from the same box last night on an empty stomach and found it very pleasing with no ill effects.

Very interesting. Have they mellowed that quickly?

I picked up a few singles from a local B&M but I'm not sure on the exact date. They have a decent amount of plume so I'm thinking they have a few years on them. The flavor from both the cigars were similar just the first one really kicked my ass. Perhaps the first one just packed a bigger kick, I have one more to smoke so we'll see how that goes.

an after thought, the BGM that gave me the spins was straight out of the B&M humidor that I feel is kept way too moist. The latest one I smoked that was good had some time in my desktop, perhaps the reason for the discrepancy.

smoked the last BGM from that batch, killer nicotine. so 2 of the 3 i had kicked my ass, one was all around incredible. Just bought a box LSM JUL08, well see how these are!

The strongest Habanos I have are not the RyJ Cazadores, or even Boli CE's, though I've had some that were plenty strong. I have most of a box of ENE03 Upmann No. 2's that are loaded with flavor, but are real sledgehammers when it comes to body and nicotine. I only light one up when I'm finished with a meal, and mentally prepared. My box of '08 H.U. Piramides are pretty damned strong, too.

NUB Habano: 464T! This thing should be called NUKE instead! Kicked the **** out me ...Kinda like a very pissed off Midget riding a very angry Pony just backed up towards me and kicked me in the Face...

Only CC that ever really kicked me hard was my first Bolivar, a young Royal Corona. Man, harsh-a-mundo! That was very early in my cigar-smoking days though...probably why! I do have the RC on my "try again" list!

Aside from that - the Opus X Doube Corona, bought it in Vegas, smoked it on the ship a month later....serious spins, I could barely stand up after smoking it! Very smooth, however.....It really snuck up on me.

The chisel made me sick to my stomach. I had a Camacho that I had to sit down to smoke.

Camacho Corojo Limited 07/05 should have been boxed in ammo cans. They will put a serious butt kickin' on you. I have never run into any CC anywhere near as high powered.

07/05 is the particular vitole's name, BTW, not a production date.

One ABR 08 RyJ Cazadores I had back in July had a pretty good kick, along the lines of a BCG or Punch DC, but in a smaller package.

The SEP 08 Monte Sublime... Let me put it this way: My lady and I shared one in August. I'd say she had maybe 1/3 and I had the other 2/3, switching back and forth. She had to stop (not the first time, or the last, for her) and I was buzzing hard by the end. It is a big cigar, so should be expected, but it had a load of nicotine.

I immediately ordered another box.

I'm thinking I should get a box of the CF.

Camacho Corojo 8/11, obviously NC here. But this by far has been the strongest cigar I have ever smoked. My friends and I call it "The Widow-maker", at least the ones prior to them changing the band style, IMHO. I met Christian at a cigar event and spoke to him about these, he said the 8/11 is significant of his mom's birthday. And he agreed it was a kicker of a cigar, I concur!!

Don't get me wrong here...there are strong Cubans, I'm sure many of them, the RACF for instance sounds like one, although I've yet to try it. However, that said...my experience is that NCs tend to be stronger. I've had my butt handed to my in the past by Joya de Nicaragua Antano 1970s and recently by Pepin's My Father Le Bijou 1922. These cigars gave me cold sweats.

That's very interesting. I've been smoking a FEB 03 box of Upmann #2s that, while excellent cigars, are not nearly as strong as the RA CFs, 09 Cazadores or some killer MAR 09 Bolivar PCs I recently smoked.

And I've tried many NCs that are stronger than Cuban cigars. If all you want is strength, go that was. Problem is they either cost more, are very monolithic and/or get a nasty metallic taste at the halfway point.

No experience with CC's for me.

On NC side, the only one that ever made me sick was 5 Vegas Limitada 2009. Great, complex and dynamic flavours, no harshness at all. When I put it down and stood up, then it hit me like a shot of vodka on an empty stomach.

I have an Opus X Beli I'v been keeping for about 2 years. I think I may light it up during the holidays and see what happens.

Its a complex thing, but not enough to eat or drink, tired, whatever, makes you more likely to succumb. Got to agree with BigGuns though, the one time the chills, sweats and nausea got me was after I smoked a JLP Cremas after a Party 898. I enjoyed the 898 so much I just had to have another cigar, big mistake. Big mistake...

There's another thread in the forum on what to do about it. Seems lots of guys have success with eating something sweet or drinking coke to beat the horrors. B)

i agree that the recent jl #2s are @ss kickers. my remedy for nicotine buzz is 1-2 teaspoons of straight sugar. only takes about 10-15 minutes and i'm feeling fine.
