yeah a terrific documentation of a great night and a great habanos brand.

i keep thinking its about to get a wipeout and brought back as a imited edition for us- who love them

i never understand as somebody who tastes every day (part of what i do for a living) the "for newbies" QDO gets.

People think in your face flavours are for advanced smokers and cigars need to give you a slap in the face with power.

Big is in right now... big houses.. big cars... big watches.. big ring gauges .. big red wines ... big Islay Scotches.. Big F****g macs big boobs and big bombs.

We have a fascination with big and to many big is better.

We are beginning to lose the accessibility and appreciation for subtlety and refinement.

I know we here in Australia love our big jammy wines because the flavour is immediate and obvious (dont get me wrong i love big wines also..) but we also must take a minute to appreciate the complex and the nuanced pieces of art that need to be experienced and taught to ones self to appreciate... theyre not going to be an obvious hit.. they might take a while to unearth..

QDO is definitely for the discerning smoker...

Huge on flavour and complexity... potent with perfume .. micro flavours that reminisce random thoughts and memories hidden in distant history roll in and out.

Should be a change of pace smoke in most people's rotation.

I truly dont think theyre for everybody... but they certainly are for more than women and newbies... to me theyre one of the hidden gems in cigar smokers quest for Nirvana .

If you dont love them new..store them away for three years...and try them then..

I hate sharing this kind of info with you lot.. because it will mean i will find it more difficult to get my hands on them.

I love sharing this kind of info with you lot.. because its a brotherhood...

I love this opening essay because i * totally get it*!!!

WOW such a fantastic read Guy, thank you for the time to write and share.

ROB: Do you have any Qd'O available? Perhaps a sale is in order?

Really good post. Qd'O Panatelas are one of my favourite regular production smokes and the RE Embarajador and Belicosos Royal are superb.

biggrin.png Just a titchy point .... Punch is taken from an English character name and H Upmann was a German and Montecristo was nicked from a book title by by French author Alexandre Dumas and the Spanish author Cervantes might have something to say about Sancho Panza.

Fantastic read - thanks for posting :)

I've only ever tried the Corona Claro and Belicoso Royal from QdO, but I really enjoyed both... its yet another brand I need to try more of!

Love info like this.

More info to come, when I find the time to translate and summarize!

Guy evoked the 2005 "re-launching" party in Paris. As a matter of fact I find the post 2005 production much better than that of the early 2000's.
