'02 Quai D'Orsay Gran Corona today while out and about. Good enough for a full review... an absolutely fantastic cigar! Perhaps I'll post a full review of this one. Then again... maybe not!!! -LOL -Piggy

Last night I got to savour a Hoyo Piramides LE 2003.

Beautiful construction, the draw is fantastic, oily milk chocolate coloured wrapper, with complex, sweet full bodied flavours of spice and caramel. ;)

Seeing I smoke outside, last night the weather wasn't so great and as such, decided to have a Cohiba Maduro 5 (Secretos) as it only lasts 30-40minutes.

This is the 8th Secretos from my box of 10 and whilst thus far 7 out of 8 have been great, the 8th one had a terrible draw, so much so, that I was getting head spins from drawing!!

Must be 1 in every box I guess? :D

As I type this I am thoroughly enjoying an 02 RA 898. There has been a lot of talk lately about what bastards HSA are for discontinuing this or that, well this was IMO the biggest bonehead move! Were these cigars seriously sitting on the shelves? Were they unsmokable young? Not only are the flavors of roasted nuts, leather, baking spice and stewed fruits so bright and vibrant but the smoke itself is extraordinary! It's hard to describe other than thick and chewy, very viscous. It so dense and heavy and so damn tasty I almost want to eat the damn thing. I'm only about halfway through so I hesitate to give it a rating but I'll edit the post later with a score. I just imagine what they could have done in the partagas factory in 06 and 07 with this cigar... What a shame.

Whilst I am yet to smoke this, today I purchased a HOYO double Corona which I will have this evening.

Apparently it's quite a sweet cigar in flavour?

Anyone else try one of these?

Last night an excellent PLPC then followed by another great cigar, PPP. Went back to back. Thankfully, the PPP was no where near the "30" that Ken rates em'.

Now a Party Short (also terrific - rather strong!).

Monte #2 and some ice cold Stella...excellent, as always.

Hope all is well...

1 down, 3 to go.

I had an enjoyable weekend of smoking...yesterday, a '05 ERDM Tainos and today, a '98 Punch Monarca AT...two very different cigars and both very tasty.

Generally I find cigars from 2004 bland & disappointing, but this morning an 04 Siglo IV definitely was an exception to that rule.

Yesterday I started with a SCDLH El Principe

Mid day I smoked my first H. Upmann MAG 46, very nice

After dinner grabbed a Party Short for a quick smoke

Had a Diplo #4 this morning, 07, not much in the way of complexity but great flavor, cedary-ovaltine.Great smoke.

07 PLPC in the afternoon, still showing it's youth in the 1st 3rd, sweet cedar 2nd 3rd, sweet cedar with caramel underneath in the last 3rd. Good smoke.

We had a wild get together in Ybor last week!.. this is just what I had:

.. 98 ELDM lonsdale

.. 99 PSDC #3

.. 07 Cohiba Secretos

.. 05 BPC

The PSDC #3 was top, with the ELDM close behind.

Just smoked a Upmann Regalias I found at the bottom of the cooler (trying to smoke some of the singles that I've forgotten about). Not sure what the box date is but I know I bought it in Toronto in '05. Straightforward tobacco, not much else. Definitely not bad but probably wouldn't smoke again.

Trini Coloniales - quickly becoming one of my favorites.

Enjoy your smokes, all!

Quick round up in 7 days(from '07/08)

1) Hupmann Connie 1s: Spicy cream with trademark clean tobacco taste, surprisingly medium bodied.

2) BRCs: Intriguing and complex as always.

3) QDS Gran Coronas: Plenty of herbal toasted tobacco, wonderful.

4) JL Petit Coronas: Trademark vegetal spicy flavors, dodgy burn though.

5) RG Coronas Extra: Milk chocolate, mild-medium toasted tobacco, great burn and aroma

6) Cohiba CE: Dreamy as always.

7) Cohiba Siglo IIs: A little brash, needs another year or two to be fair.

8) Cuaba Exclusivos: :D

Had a cracker Partagas Churchill DL . Sweet and intense. I really can't recall sweetness too much within these before. Certainly was a highlight of my day. Excluding Lisa :D
