b0rderman Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 RG Lonsdale from '02 First time for me with this endangered specie...very very enjoyable and complex, it changed up on me quite a bit and tasted a good bit different then many of the other RGs I have smoked. Perhaps they really are worth the premium? Not sure if I am going to go after these or not. Either way, quite an enjoyable smoke, definitely at or near the top of my list of lonsdales thus far. And for no good reason...here is a picture of it
Jakester Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Tonight a 2007 RA Eminencia, my first. Beautiful cigar, but a bit strange and "un-RA-like" in profile. Spicy and herbal, and rather "light" in body. Perhaps age will work its magic, as these are not yet two years old. Will revisit in a year . . . .
Evo03 Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Had a June 07 RASS tonight. Smoked it to the nub, and hated to see it go.
El Presidente Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Have been enjoying a Partagas 898 V as we played FOH poker today. Very good if not Superb. Need a litle more time away. Lacking a touch of the normal intensity.
Ethernut Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 (06) Bolivar Finos tonight and (03) Des Deiux lastnight.. Been a while since I had a bolivar, and I must admit it smoked quite well.. I got a good bit of wood all the way through. When I lit it, I got a huge shot of cream which promptly when away. Nice start. The Des Deiux is one of my new favorites, copious cream and cedar, a one trick pony but spot on everytime.
PigFish Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Monte #1 FKC ABR 04. Thinking on posting a full review. This cigar was well worth it.
MIKA27 Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Monte #1 FKC ABR 04. Thinking on posting a full review. This cigar was well worth it. This must be the day for Monte's.... I just had a Monte #2 - 510 Anniversary LE 2002. Cost me some coin but it was fantastic. Started out mild but midway through, became increasingly fuller flavoured to strong with hints of Dark chocolate, espresso, earth.
maalouly Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 I had a Cuaba LE last night, fantastic smoke! That's the 2nd one I have had this week.
jdbrown Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Bolivar Petit Corona. SVF Nov 05. Very Dark and oily. This Cab is starting to shine!
bassman Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Tonight a 2007 RA Eminencia, my first. Beautiful cigar, but a bit strange and "un-RA-like" in profile. Spicy and herbal, and rather "light" in body. Perhaps age will work its magic, as these are not yet two years old. Will revisit in a year . . . . Give it more time. The 05s just started getting nice about a year ago. Smoked a NOV 08 Hamlet Cervantes last night. Wonderful cigar- strong, smooth & earthy, just as I like them. yk
dizedean Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Had my first and only Mag 46. This was from 07 I received as an extra gift in a MAW package. Was pleasantly surprised with this stick. It was very spicy through the nose with good medium body savory tobacco taste with a real sweetness that rounded it off. Based on this single experience it is a vitolo I would like to try again.
mbrody Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 RyJ Short Churchill early 08 I believe. Dryboxed 24 hrs. Handsome cigar. Underwhelming, light to medium. If this was sex in a cigar, it would be like sleeping with a dead fish. Hoping these come around with time...
Stormin691 Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Smoked a RyJ Churchill today when the sun finally broke around here.. Accompanied with two beers... This smoke was subtle, flavor change was light with only hints of what was once something special... I really miss those kick ass churchills...
Habanos2000 Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 I had a 2008 Cohiba Siglo II on the drive home from work today. It was rich and smooth all the way through. Billowing clouds of smoke! Just wish it was a little bigger as it ended before my ride home did.
jeromeroselli Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Smoked an 898V (08) as I watched the Yankees catch first place for the first time since 2006 tonight. Tight draw at first that opened up after some initial cold draws. I spent almost 6 innings smoking this cigar, and it started to drizzle towards the end. Any regular smoker knows that a cigar basically becomes a sponge when outside humidity reaches 100%. But this cigar held up and gracefully. Loved every second of it. The 898V has been acclaimed recently for a very good reason.
aavkk Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 The other night I had my first LGC Glorioso RE UK 08. What a damn good and very unique smoke. Medium body with very strong hay and tea flavors over a slightly sweet core. I think this cigar has some serious aging potential.
IceChant Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 CAO Brazilia - Amazon (6"x60)- I like the Brazilian wrapper touch.
mkz Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Had an Partagas Aristocrats (DIC 07) yesterday. It was even better than my 05´s. Flavour bomb!! So far today I´ve had an Juan Lopez Petit Corona. Man! I´ve never seen so much smoke from such a small cigar!! Quite mild but loaded with creamy tobacco flavours! This was a single from the Czar but now I realize I gotta get a box! Had a few beers now after a hard days of work in the garden... Perhaps I´ll light up a Bolivar Belicoso after dinner...
sliver54 Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Had a CoRo for lunch... It's so nice out, I had to have something else this afternoon. Pulled out an 898v and it was plugged, I'm going to dry box it for a few days to see if it opens a little. Instead of feeling sorry for myself, I clipped a BBF which smoked beautifully.
Guest robustog Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Had a CoRo from 07 today. Not sure what I will have tonight.
mbrody Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Perfect evening and weather. Just started a fire, setup the binoculars for tonight's half moon and lit up a Mag46 (08). These are quite the flavor bomb, thanks pres for the reco...
BigGuns Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 puffing on a Trinidad Coloniales at the moment. My first...not too bad. nice burn, smooth flavors. wrapper is a little veiny, however. Hope all is well...
brutusthebuckeye Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Monte Sublime...my first...it was not good...
smk819 Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 I woke up at 4 AM and couldn't fall back to sleep so I made coffee and started the day with a Siglo I. I think a RASCC when I get home from work. Now I have to think of an after dinner Cigar, my choices are a Partagas 898V or a series Du Connoisseur #1. If I smoke any thing other than a Partagas it will be a MC#2, I am an unabashed Partagas ***** though.
dizedean Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 '08 Connie 3, right before dinner as I was cooking on the grill. Hit the spot, great taste consistent, reliable, most enjoyable
