It was a decent cigar week with a couple of standouts:

Punch Corona (07) This was part of our discontinued stock and I need to leave them alone. Quite ruthless in execution (strong) and lacking in the fine graces. How I look forward to seeing these in 5 years. I suspect a great.

Cohiba Robusto (08) Shared a couple with Artie Friday on the deck. Again...strong and has years of ageing in it but I will give the thumbs up to any Cohiba Robusto which shows me honey and cream at a young age.

Magnum 46 (08) Simply loving these. Sweet medium bodied tobacco with a core of toast. Where they will go is only good. I haven't had a dud this year to date. Tremendous recovery.

Partagas Serie De Connoisseur No 3 (08). I know it is boring but I am in ove again with these. Rich, choc tobacco flavour, Partagas Spice. Lifts your spirits.

Trinidad Ingenios (08) What a turnaround! Have had 3 after my initial review prompted by a FOH tasting. Complex and coming around in spades. A bolter.

Totally have to agree with you, Prez, on the Trini Ingenios EL from '08. I smoked one of these last weekend and found it very pleasing and see a lot of potential for these. This is going to be a really good cigar in a few years.

Standout for me was a humble Partagas Aristocrat AGL Oct 06. Lovely toasted tobacco, a touch grassy, with a spot-on burn and draw. Lovely.

Ahhh! Cohiba Robusto - What a way to end a day! Smooth and rich, I'm loving those lately too.

That was a great week. I need to try the Magnum 46, everyone is giving good reviews.

Thanks.

I had a very good week, a number of standouts... only one dud.

The Trinidad Ingenios (07) and Fundadores (01) I reviewed... both incredible, rich and enjoyable.

Cohiba Siglo VI (06) what a beautiful cigar... and I love the tubos presentation, you can open just about any drawer in my house and find these empty tubes rolling around. lol

Partagas Corona (06) why would they discontinue these???? Now with three years of age on them, they are even more complex and enjoyable as my remaining '01 stock. I should have bought way more than four boxes of these when they canceled them, since I always seem to light up a second immediately after finishing the first.

Cohiba Lancero (05) suffered through 2 inches of trying to get this wooden dowel to breathe properly before pitching it. What a shame as the aroma and flavor were exceptional.

I´ve had some 05´s and 07´s the last weeks and you summed up this great little cigar perfectly.

This week for me saw only 2 cigars go up in flames.

1. 1984 Montecristo Especiale- very refined and had an unmistakable mustiness to it that I couldnt put my finger on. More or less the essence of smelling a really old book. Very cool and my first experience with a cigar of this age.

2. 07 BBF- wow, is this a great cigar. Box on the way...

06 Cohiba Robusto. You gotta be freaking kidding me.. One of the top 5 best smokes I've ever had. I just kept staring at it like it was going to turn into a gold bar or something. One of those smokes where you take a draw and say "Holy Crap"! and take another draw and say "Holy Crap!"

08 NC Pieces of crap. Tried two different NC sticks.. couldnt get past the first 1/4. Threw those bastards out. Garbage, utter total garbage. Tasted like the smell of dry cleanig fluid. After I pitched the NC's I went for a trusty ole...

06 Monte #4 - After those NC's this this stick tasted like a slice of heaven. Last third it showed it's youth though, which was a darn sight better than the NC's.

I feel like Punch continues to get the benefit of the doubt despite poor performance. Whereas you **** kick the 08 Serie D - a good cigar - to no end, you still hold out hope for the Punch Corona '07 . What gives? I have yet to be impressed by the brand. I have a box of the double coronas '01 and I will wait until winter comes to put them to good use as kindling.

(tongue in cheek) keep up the awesome work :D ...

i'd just put them away for a few more years (the DC's). i have largely been underwhelmed by punch in general but i do absolutely love the SS2's. magnificent.

have just ordered some of the last SS1's.
