I got it bad

I got it bad.

Tell me I'm not the only one....

Besides enjoying the odd cigar I've been listening to Cuban music and learning a little Spanish. That's ok, but here's the problem,

I look at the clock during the work day and think can I sneak an hour and a half in here to have the 898 V that's softly calling out to me from the desk draw? Smoke me, smoke me....

I check the humidity level of my cigars, oh, not very often maybe I am down to only twice a day now. :)

I hear conversation in the distance and think, are they speaking Spanish? That sounded like Spanish to me.

Sometimes I dream about cigars. (no, not the type of dreams you may term the Monica Lewinski type dreams).

During the week I spend an inordinate amount of time thinking what will I choose to smoke this weekend, one of those 4 year old 898 V or should I see how the Gold Medals are coming along? Or smoke that last Monte Petit Edmundo deliberately slowly to get the most out of it?

I feel like beans and rice for dinner. Where's my Havana club rum got to?

I look at people smoking and wonder which cigar they have there - nope, they are just sad old cigarette smokers huddled under the eves to get out of the rain.

The last straw was this morning when I glanced at my coffee cup at McDonalds.

And I thought that the words' Rainforest Alliance' read 'Ramon Allones' :cofcig:

I got it bad, anyone else care to share their stories, come on now, you're amongst friends

My problem may be as bad or worse... do you see in that cup the icon suggesting a cigar with your coffee?

Don't worry Mike, I dream about having my own walk-in humidor at home, with all the official limited releases from Habanos, as well as stacks of vintage Davidoffs and Dunhills and a collection of custom Elie Bleu huimidors, just for display. Not forgetting a giant wooden tobacco beetle outside the room.

But er, Rainforest Alliance=Ramon Allones? :cofcig:

I've planned meticulously detailed "hits" on several large local cigar shops in Malls that sell only CC's. Fortunately the larger of the cigar stores is conveniently located near an exit and the large walk-in humidor is located out of public view.

I need about 5 or 6 people (excluding the two drivers). The two getaway vehicles are parked outside the mall parking lot, a total of 100 yards or so from the store itself. We arrive at the store around 9 AM during the quiet period as the store opens. We arrive at the store in intervals of 20 seconds and with a lookout present we proceed to "disable" the staff (usually a max of 2 people working) and we get to work.

Around 9 or 10 large military style duffel bags should clear out the majority of the stock under the guise of a "stock take". Should everyone do their job properly we'll be in and out in under 8 minutes.

The exit is fairly straightforward. Two vehicles (pickup truck/van type) that drive off in different directions and meet up at a safe house several hours later. And of course after 30min or so we call up the mall security to free the staff that's been tied up in the store room.

Then we split everything down the middle.

Just a thought :cofcig:

Well my friend , all I can say, to ease your mind, is that I've been smoking Habanos for 38

years, have searched the world over for anything concerning Habanos, in the 70's there were no Mags

or Inernet, etc etc; at the time I used to send a letter a month to Cubatobaco asking them for

info or ads or booklets etc. They really got feed up with me. even today, I'll bit on anything concerning

cigars, so, If you think you've got it bad now, all I can say to you is,

YOU AIN'T SEEN NOTHING YET BROTHER. :cofcig:

Hang in there and welcome to the club :rotfl:

I keep my coolidor RIGHT next to my desk... I look over into it about once every other hour... and at least 3-4 times a day I'll pop open the door and pull out a box to open and smell...

... and of course every morning I have various web page macros to open up charts so I can see what the dollar is doing against other currencies. That way if one is low I might make an order from a source from that area. And I then open up the pages from all my sources to check on specials, etc... and then the forums, and THEN.... finally I get to the porn...er.... I mean work...

Keep in mind that "bad" is a relative term.

And, if you practice, you can rationalize and justify anything.

I'm not sure how bad I have it. I do spend time thinking about what I'm going to smoke next.

It looks like I have around 105 links in my internet browser cigar folder.

Often I pass by a bar or look up and see a nice balcony and think, "What a great place to smoke a cigar."

Plus I write micro-fiction and make art (watercolor, ink, collage, colored pencil) all around cigar themes and images.

But, no, I don't think I have it all that bad.

It's ok, don't panic! You have Habanos Fever. A deep seated desire to enjoy Habanos. Smoke them, smell them, taste them, caress them, care for them, ogle them, showcase them, share them etc. If you lucky the fever will never leave you. No need to seek medical treatment.

My dream is to have my own Habanos shop, hopefully in Cuba, otherwise here in the states some day!

It can be cured, just send me all your cigars and cut up your credit cards, shoot your computer and have all your electricity cut off. Either that or it will pass on its own after then next 100 years....................

LOL, this is great, thanks guys. I like all your approaches, even the illegal ones! And I should have added all my boss's time I spend online with FoH, Czar and others..

I need to be clear though, my serious problem is certainly not one I want to solve because I AM LOVING IT.

And so Tampa that's a very considerate offer but, er, no thanks. :rotfl:

Can you believe sometimes I get asked by some poor disillusioned soul if I am trying to give up the cigars? Hah! as if !! :rotfl:
