Mac all the way. Unless of course u have some sadistic obsession with troubleshooting. And if you must have windows run both OS's.

Mac. Though I have to use it from time to time, I'm not a big fan of microshaft windoze. These days, we're really talking about the OS,

as the hardware and associated architecture become more alike. To save $$, if I ever need another computer, I'd consider buying a core

duo pc and loading the mac os (hacks are available).

As an aside, I think photoshop cs4 sucks.

PC - It does everything I want it to do and there seems to be more available hardware and software. But then again I'm not a very sophisticated user

I use microsoft vista and have never had problems on the two machines I run it on. Then again if you know how to use the system properly you shouldn't have problems, like disabling auto-updates and doing research on them before applying any. Some of those patches really are more problematic than running without them.

Though lately i've given thought to buying a new Mac with OS X or whatever the newest OS is considering its basis is BSD, my favorite OS back in the day (OpenBSD specifically).

Old school mac was just terrible.. they've really come around to the mainstream.

Go the PC...

Atm all I do is use the computer to surf and the occasional game so PC. :violin:

If I was back into DTP I would be using Mac, although for pure crunching power and speed the pc is the go if

you know what your doing and the programs you use. I believe each has there own specialized areas.

My Personal notebook is a PC, easier to send/receive/login to my server using it. Mac is used by our designers to draw pretty pictures :violin: ... but they are catching up introducing the first intel few years back.

Some of our Mac machines have both Windows and Leopard installed on them.

Mac @ home (maintenance free machine)

PC, Mac, Linux @ work (computer support looks after issues with PC and Linux, Vista is abhorred by 'em)

I've tried them all at some point:

Mac - I don't get it. It's pretty, great for Photoshop and absolutely awesome for posing in some coffee shop or movie set somewhere. The massive marketing machine makes you believe you're special and unique if you use a Mac. Hardcore Mac users (the fanatics) remind me of the Dunhill/Davidoff Habano crowd smoking with the band on, trying VERY hard to be special.

Linux - Too stripped down for me, I appreciate the idea behind free software but sometimes it can be a bit of a pain. Ubuntu is great, but a bit too "bare" for me. Kind of reminds me of devout NC smokers, it's good but something about it just doesn't feel right.

PC - It gets the job done in a million different ways. Kind of like smoking a Vegueros and then switching back to a Cohiba, a variety of different choices.

Yep, this is like the classic NC vs CC debate.

One is more reliable and more consistent... but extremely bland and boring.

The other has more problems and hiccups... but offers more in the way of variety.

Mac here, and the cool factor absolutely never came into that choice. I've used Mac since 1985 and Windows for 15 years. I've installed Windows on my present machine, but it seldom gets used.

Mac.

I resisted it for a long time but when my last PC crashed I got a mac mini and kept all of my peripherals. I did not want to buy into the hype, but the Apple is far superior. I wish I had not waited so long.

Never used a Mac before, PC works for me

However, Mac users swear by them

As a Photographer and Graphic Designer it has always been Mac for me and I have always loved it.

Its something about the soil where they're from, they just look so good and work so well...
