One of the guys at the cigar store I frequent gave me one of these cigars a few months ago, and I thought I would share with the experts here ;) I can;t remember the exact story, but he said that these cigars were custom rolled Cohiba Double Coronas ( I think he said 10K cigars? I forgot) that were ordered and shipped to someone in the states. Apparently there were confiscated, and after some years, they were released and sold to another 3rd party who put a custom band and package on these. I really wish I remembered the specifics , and next time I see my friend, I will get the exact story....apparently he has a letter that explains the exact history of these things. Has anyone ever heard of this story? I only have the one, and I will smoke it soon, but the guys who have smoked these said they were spectacular. Being the skeptic I am, I'm not sure how much I believe this story, but the proof is in the pudding, and I will know if they are real after I smoke it. Enjoy the pics.

Would love to see the letter ;)

The letter would be a lovely work of fiction. 10,000 Customs is a figment of someones imagination. To have an authorized Custom Cigar run rolled at a factory requires HSA approval. It is done for Kings of country (I know of 5000 Cohiba Sublimes rolled in 08 for the Emirates) and sometimes Distributors, but outside of "special relationships" it is not done.

I don't know about these at all, but the story sounds fishy.

I do have in my possession a cigar that was from a box liberated by US Special Forces from one of Saddam Hussain's Iraqi palaces during the invasion. It has a band on it that bears the name "Uday Saddam Hussein." By all accounts from experts I have consulted the band is typical of those applied by Cubatabaco to "personalized" cigars.

Of course, the band would be of no significance if, as you indicate, the band was made up and put on the cigars by someone after the cigars left Cuba.

I would love to hear the true story behind this one. And why would customs release it after confiscation? <_<

I'm sure that this would cause a massive uproar from those who have suffered confiscation in the past :)

Suffice to say......it will not end up on my website :P
