Taino Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Romeo y Julieta Petit Julietas EMA Jun 07 First impression: good looking little bugger, well made, nutty tobacco aroma. Cuban cut and lite it up 1st half: good draw (something you have to be always thankful in this small ring hand made cigars), mild to medium. Nuts, milk, wood and a hint of dry grass flavours. Very enjoyable. 2nd half: Nuts, wood and milk still present, with a hint of mint in the aftertaste. In this half grass disappears opening to an herbaceous flavour along with the nuts and milk. Traces of ammonia at the very end. Overall impression: This little cigar could be everything you can expect in a morning coffee cigar. It's in the lower side of the medium profile, very enjoyable flavours and delivers what I would call a "simple enjoyable complexity". Which is nice in a 30 ring gauge. It has Romeo y Julieta all over it in spite his size. If you want to nub it, let it rest for a year to get rid of the few hints of ammonia at the very end... I nubbed it anyway... I was born in Mars so I'm used to much more than bits of ammonia ...
soltino Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Thanks for the review Taino, you reminded me that I had a box of these as well, which turned out to be the same box code. Like you I found this to be a great little mellow smoke, and I took your advice and tried it with my morning coffee. Perfect
El Presidente Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Loved the review Taino I have got into the rut (a good rut) of reaching for HDM Du Maire when I am looking for a small cigar. Some of these little crackers offer so damn much.
Guest rob Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Great review and photos! As I said in the other thread. This is my next "must try" morning cigar.
