BobLobLaw Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 We need to have the ability to update our entry - the number just keeps going up. For sure, up to 8 boxes and as I have no space at home any future purchases will be in the OHS. I am actually really regretting not putting the RACF in there, but I was too curious to see what they looked like!
ChanceSchmerr Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I'm using it now with 3 boxes, but I just bought the boxes yesterday, so I still have "no stock" according to the site. I plan on having many more boxes in there before I'm done!
Wil Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I'm planning on using the service. Just need to save up enough coin to buy three boxes in one hit!
First Lady Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Wil Send me an e-mail I will look after you
gfoster Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I think it's a good service, just not sure if I'll use it or not. Not sure if I want that level of paperwork detailing my *ahem* unsanctioned *ahem* activities. -- Gary F.
beachcougar Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 It really is an excellent service. Great for aging boxes without the temptation to dive in!
PADDYWHACK121272 Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Great idea, just signed up for it and have my first few boxes lined up - my main motivation is so that i can stash away some nice boxes from time to time and forget about them for a few years....we'll see what happens...temptation and instant gratification may get the better of me.
sharks Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Its a great service which currenty holds 4 boxes of mine. I intend to use it more and more. Great idea by Czars and all that security for free! Stops me going crazy smoking them all at once aswell Sharks
thechenman Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I think this is a wonderful service that usually only the best cigar retailers do for their loyal customers. Storage space costs money, and it is generous of Czar to offer this to their customers. I personally use the online humidor since Q1'09 and have enjoyed the experience. I believe I am presently up to 20 boxes and am steadily adding at least a box a month. The positives are too many to mention in a post of reasonable length, but for me it all comes down to peace of mind that my cigars are being stored in a climate controlled environment that is ideal for aging - while saving me space at home in addition to the aggravation of monitoring them. On top of this there is the ease of inventory control as well. For those not using the Online Humidor, I would highly recommend it. Czar takes the utmost care of your cigars and insures their purchase value to boot...I don't think you can reasonably ask for more.
perfectform Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I'm now in the over 20 group as well, but my locker will soon see an exodus of boxes.
cgarner Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Just signed up, but I don't have any cigars in it yet. I will have to wait a month or so before I can buy 3 boxes all at once.
thechenman Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 So far all my boxes in the online humidor save I 50 ct Cab of Party Lusis are there for long-term aging, and I plan to continue to add to my stock. As I mentioned it is a great resource that our host has offered us, and I for one intend to take advantage of it. Thanks Czar.
dcse Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Four boxes so far. Excellent service. I expect a gradual expansion of my stock. I am most grateful for this arrangement as my basement storing arrangment is reaching its limit
Colt45 Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I think it's a good service, just not sure if I'll use it or not. Not sure if I want that level of paperwork detailing my *ahem* unsanctioned *ahem* activities. Just think of the Czar Crew as Swiss bankers - except they're not Swiss, so they won't turn you in
Lanthor Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Not buying at the moment, but Rob is the most savvy retailer out there. PSP, HQ, Online Humidor, contests, reviews, Hot Boxes, posts from The Festival, makes all others look like boobs in thier grasp (or lack thereof) of marketing and service. Always blows my mind that other retailers can't grasp simple marketing concepts outside of once a month price reductions, and service is simply the concept of order fullfillment and nothing more.
jawofboston Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 I don't use it and here's why: as an American citizen resident in the USA, there are certain government agencies that take, how shall I say it?, a negative view of my consumption of Cuban cigars. Apparently they have plenty of time left over from catching terrorists to "confiscate" (aka "steal") my cigars. Thankfully, this has only happened between me and the Czar once, and they promptly (thanks Lisa!) sent me a replacement. If I were to build up a stock of finely aged Havana cigars in Australia, I would then create risk when I went to have them shipper over here (I can see it now: "hey Lisa, I just lost a 10 year old box of Partagas SdC#1 - any chance you could send me another?"). So until this dumbass embargo is lifted, I'm a no-go. After that I would consider.

android Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 I don't because I have two large humidors...but I think that this just one of many amazing attributes that makes FOH/Czar second to none.

thechenman Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 With any luck in 10 years, hopefully you won't have to worry about that (confiscation).
android Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 I agree with you there. Part of the reason why Im afraid of PSP boxes too. The land of the free . Not to worry my friend...you know that the Czar's will make it right.
El Presidente Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 This is also a reason why I've never seriously considering using the online humidor service.-- Gary F. Gary that is a legitimate risk. I know many of the lads who are using the service are using it in order to age stocks and ship in bulk the day the wall comes down. The service obviously does not suit everyone but for some it is useful.
gfoster Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Oh don't get me wrong, Rob, I think it's a *great* service and I wish the politics in my country weren't so freakin' stupid, or else I'd definitely take advantage of it. TBH, I'm not entirely convinced we'll see the stupidity lifted in my lifetime (yeah, I am a pessimist). -- Gary F.
samb Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Not to worry my friend...you know that the Czar's will make it right. I have absolutely no doubt about that!! I just would hate to love a box with several years of age, ya know?
