FuglyE Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 For those who love a Punch Churchill, what else would you recommend? Doesn't have to mimic the Punch, just curious. I was considering a SLR Serie A, but am open.

The Partagas Lusitania is a wonderful smoke when it's on, just don't let them lie too long.
havanaclub7 Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 I agree with SmokinAl about the Hoyo DC and the Partagas Lusis. If you're looking to stay in the Churchill range, the Boli CGs are currently outstanding as well as Upmann Sir Winstons from '07.
Tampa1257 Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 There are several here at FOH that believe that the SLR DC is the very best one could ever find. I like them, but prefer either the Partagas Lusi or the Ramon Allones Gigante. That is if you enjoy a little larger cigar than a Churchill. I have been disappointed with the recent RyJ Churchills so I can not recommend them, but the Bolivar Corona Gigantes I have smoked were excellent. There again, you can tell that I prefer a stronger fuller body cigar, not something mild and delicate.
Ken Gargett Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 if we are going DC, i am a confirmed lover of the SLR dc but agree with tampa re the lusi's. had a brilliant box from 97 and a very good cab from 98 - i do think they benefit from a few years in the 'dor.
