El Presidente Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 » ...and Rob: you owe me one! You are a good man Charlie Brown. Thanks for taking one for the team
winelover Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 These are f*cking rough as! I had a couple from a five pack I was gifted from a very suspect cigar company about 4 years ago (newby days!). Funnily enough, I gifted most of the pack away at the pub (not to close friends) and even had polite remarks that 'these are alright!'.

FLitiGator Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 » Thanks for fouling your palate :-) Two words: Hydrogen Peroxide STAT! Will clean your palate like nothing else by taking off the surface layer of skin. Feels very clean and refreshed.
Professor Twain Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 These are awful, I had one from a five pack and gave the rest to a guy with no taste.
cigarros Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 I can't understand - why in any countries continue to sell cigars which are removed from manufacture?! For example Guantanamera. In Russia there are many places where sellin' this cigars, but I know, that they are not issued since 2005. Counterfeit? Stream "B"? Or? What are you thinkin' about?
Taino Posted November 15, 2008 Author Posted November 15, 2008 Guantanamera Compay First impression: smells good, plain tobacco, a bit too sweet for my taste. Not too loose (as I was expecting). Ugly looking thing, the only cigars that look worst than these are bodegas like Reloba or Cacique. First third: very mild, with almost no taste at all, feels like smoking a big black tobacco cigarette. Actually is not bad, just very boring without flavors. Draw is firm but fine. After a few puffs a little bitterness appears, still no flavors, maybe a little almond, very very little bitter almond, this one and lonely almond quickly turns into melted candle flavour, now it becomes unpleasant When I hit the middle I decided I'm too old for this and put it away. I would call a JL Piedra, an honest cigar, not pretentious, and delivers plain Cuban tobacco flavors. Guantanamera's are pretentious, fancy box and cello cover, but they are not even half of a JL Piedra. The best of this Compay was my 7yo Flor de Caña. Maybe a cigar to give a way to a non smoking friend... no, not to a friend, to someone you know... but if you have any love for yourself please don't smoke it! ...and Rob: you owe me one!
BlackFriar Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 » » » » Belongs in a Sex shop... You know, we might be falsely trashing this fine product by classifying it as a cigar! Perhaps it is Cuba’s version of an indigenous aphrodisiac? “Guantanamera… The Tiger’s Penis of the Caribbean!”
