First of all, Gays can marry in California and I am all for it. The horror my married hetero life is should not be reserved to me and my hetero brothers only. If gays get a few tax breaks for being recognized, great. What does that mean for me? Nothing. Let them get married. There is no problem with this. You are in Japan. Wait until we get the kinks worked out over here in America, and then you guys can copy, er uh, I mean, improve upon it... ;-) Love, DC

Claudius Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 I see you decided to smoke it without the tissue... any particular reason? :-D
broozer Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 » Good to know I have some support Bruce :-D » » How would you describe your 2002? i can't honestly recall exactly how they tasted as i haven't smoked one in about 2-3 years (i only have two left). all i do remember is that they were very smooth and very balanced. i once had the chance to buy a box of these from '84 for under $200. i have always regretted not picking them up (damn the ex wife!!!!!!!!!!!!!). bruce
shrink Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 » I remember Gays can marry in California.. I am all for Gays getting married. I just think that it should be illegal for them to get divorced. In a few years they will be pushing for a Constitutional amendment outlawing *** marriage. Karma is a *****.

El Presidente Posted November 15, 2008 Author Posted November 15, 2008 Fonseca No 1 RTO Mar 06 43 x 162 (6.4") Lonsdale Now this was a delight, perhaps in part because my expectations were so low. Golden wrapper and perfect construction. The faintest tea and tobacco aroma at cold. Clipped the cap and the draw was devine leaving simple tobacco on the palate. Slowly lit the foot…I don’t know why but the elegance of the cigar in hand just made me take things a little slower. Combustion was quick and even with billowing smoke. What caught me immediately was the crystal clarity of the flavour and body. Strictly light bodied but with clean toasted tobacco and fresh churned butter. I was for a period mesmerized at a flavour combination that I rarely have experienced in a Cuban cigar. There is an airy lightness to the cigar but the flavour is clear, defined and rich. This is excellence in blending to achieve such a feat. My major concern by the end of the first third is that I would grow bored. Yet I continued to draw excitedly to experience the toasted tobacco and butter. This is the cigar version of sipping water from a pristine snow fed mountain stream. So light, so refreshing and so different. By the final third I was comparing in my head the Fonseca No 1 to the Sancho Panza Molinos and SLR Lonsdale….two of my favourite light bodied Lonsdales. They each bring something different to the table….the Molinos with its sweet honey , slight salt and floral flavour. The Saint Lis rey with its clean tobacco and edges of honey. The Fonseca with its clean tobacco and butter flavour. The Fonseca is the lightest bodied of the three but it is distinctive and a cigar which can stand alone proudly. The Fonseca never reaches medium body even to the final inch. It has retained its core profile throughout and at no stage was I bored. Would I smoke one regularly…no. However as a change of pace cigar on a hot summers day I would gladly reach for one. 89/100
