it takes a special cast for a pig like that.

actually, the thing terrifies me as about 20 years ago, was camping in northern algeria and we had been told no big things that eat people around there but there were some large boar. what harm can a few little piggies do, i thought. only suitable place to pitch a tent was a small track through the scrub. heard a bit of a kerfuffle during the night and some snorting and grumbling. bit of a concern but then it went away. next morning, just near the tent, a trotter print that i could put my open hand in. the thing must have been huge (i have big hands). i look at that and its trotter is near the bloke' hand nd doing a quick eye measure, the hoof on the one in africa must have been bigger still. i think we might have ben very lucky that he didn't just decide to trample straight over what was in his way but i guess a shiny blue tent was a bit unexpected on his track.

Jesus Christi! You'd really want to drop that on your first shot. Imagine that thing pissed off and coming at you in the scrub.

Wild boar is very firm. Needs to marinte at least 2, usually 3 days. Not in a soft oil marinade, but in wine. When well made, it's exquisite! :hungry:

We have alot of wild hogs around here in south Georgia. Some

are pretty big , but most are what the older people call 'piney wood

rooters' , kind of rough looking animals . :-)

I still have in fond memory when I was served marinated boar in Germany once (like 15 years ago). It was simply a fantastic meal, very succulent and tasty.

Holy crap! :surprised: We have some wild boars occasionally; they get up to 100 kg. But that thing is at lest twice that. Un - frickin' - believable!! :surprised:
