I hope Habanos will produce an attractive look cigar like this one.

I know Some of NCs are made in funny style. Why Habanos doesn't do as they do.

Because Habanos are cultivating a tradition of perfection, not one of humor. :-)

Most of the fakes are **** with a nice band, looks like they spent some time on that one and made a nice looking cigar. Not as much profit when you make fakes like that.

I just received this cigar from a customer of mine, he bought in a Dupont Cohiba lighter to be refilled, and we started talknig about Cohibas. After I filled the lighter (not sure if that was fake, but the Cohibas indian head looked a little off center on the box) he said I want to give you something special. I was all excited, it sounded like he knew about cigars, well, he walks back in and hands me this. Right away I knew it was the dreaded Cohiba 40th Ann fakes. I just Thanked him for it. But I am glad I was given one, I will probably smoke it today, hopefully it does not ruin my taste buds for my Siglo 1 I have dryboxing for tonight.

I did a search on here for images of the 40th, but did not find one, so I took two pictures just so everyone will know exactly what not to buy.

Oh, I was lucky enough to get the barber pole version.

Thank you

Well, I decided to smoke the fake Cohiba right after lunch. I thought I was going to light it up and take a few puffs and throw it out. Well, I smoked the whole thing and came close to nubbing it, but it just did not hold my interest. But I smoked it as far as I could before it became bitter and hot.

It started off with a muted Cuban flavor. I think there was Cuban tobacco in the cigar. I just think it was from one of the lesser regions.

The draw was excellent and the burn was near perfect the first quarter of the cigar. It started to go a little downhill from there, but nothing that was that bad.

I really wanted to write a bad review for this cigar, but it really surprised me. It did not taste like a Cohiba, but like I said the flavors were muted. I cant really compare it to anything, maybe the blandness of a Los Statos mixed with earthy taste of a Piedra Cremas.

I did not pick any spice, maybe a little floral. I bet a little while in the humidor might have opened the cigar up.

I have always heard that some fakes were actually decent. I am glad I got to smoke one that was. Would I pay for one, hell no. Would I smoke another, only if it was free.

Have a great weekend to everyone.
