jb007 Posted May 28, 2008 Share Posted May 28, 2008 Hi guys, I've been perusing this board for about 4 weeks on and off, in an inactive way, just reading about everything, from cuban cigars, to humidors, to random banter between long time friends. I came across a post awhile back that basically said something along the lines of: "Maybe if you told us something about yourself, etc, we could help you some more with this trade you propose... Drop by the "introduction forum quickly and post a bit up there, then come back and tell us what you have to trade too". I thought it was a bit of a **** at first, but thinking more on it, I am quite the forum *****, from gaming communities, to Arsenal fan-sites... Whats one more site to spam. Not that I'm looking to trade anything yet, if ever, but who knows, for now, its introduction time! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anyway, I'm James. James Bartram to be exact. I'm living in Melbourne and I've been smoking cigars rarely for about 2-3 years. Recently, after I had a bit of a smoke-up with my friend who first introduced me to cigars, while trying to clear his humidor as he was going to Japan for 2-4 years, I convinced myself that it is a hobby that I think I can afford... That being said though, I looked around on the net for a humidor, and the one I eventually bought didn't seal properly initially, and also didn't come with the tray it was purported to come with. A bad start, but I think I've fixed the seal, by chocking the cedar edging out with folded paper in the corners... Still no tray, but I think I might give up on that as the website disappeared only a few days after I bought my humidor, and although I was able to contact the owner of the business, who put me onto her supplier, the supplier hasn't got back to me with info as to where I can pay him for the "shipping and handling" of said tray. Anyway, I pushed ahead with things and have thus far bought myself 5 Montecristo C's, and some Cohiba Magicos, as well as a Puck-ifier from Cigar-Czar. So far I have only smoked a single Monte C from my stock (which was very nice mind, only a few puff's of the reported harshness here and there). Apart from that I've smoked a few Montecristo No. 4's, and a Siglo VI, both of which were nice, but the Siglo VI was a bit overwhelming, and maybe a bit dry or something, but I plan to revisit that baby later in my day. Looking to buy myself a few other cigars in the near future and have compiled a list of everything I want to try, as well as everything thats been suggested I do try. Thats for another day though, right now though, I just meant to say "hi", but its become long-winded... Not that thats necessarily bad, but who knows, people get bored by different things.
