Ahhh...Beautiful day in the mid 70's. Finished getting the pool cleaned up and shot up with chemicals. In the next couple days I will reviewing from the pool !!

Last week I set a Dip 3 in the drybox to smoke this weekend. Once again Rob is spying on me. This Dip 3 was a nice looking cigar with a slight black smudge near the foot. Nice med. wrapper with some oil tinges to it. Dry to the touch. I was eager to smoke a good cigar since the last one was a complete washout. Nice cap and overall a good looker.

Smell at cold was of cedar and chicken coop. Pre-light draw was a little easy but should be ok. Taste was of cedar and clean tobacco

Found an old cutter of mine...a Remington 44 case with a razor punch inside. Kind of cowboy but haven't used it in years. Gave it a try and punched the cap.

Nice looking bunch too.

1/3 - Lit it off and let it settle in.Initial draws had a taste of nuts and toasted tobacco. I could tell there was some good things going on in the background. As I smoked thru the 1st 3rd the background of stewed fruit/fig started coming out alongside the now toasted nut and a weak coffee note started to appear.

2/3 - Dip 3 was a mild to mid body so far and would prove to stay that way.The burn was excellent and the ash was a nice firm light gray .Smoke volume was right on the money. Thru this 3rd. the fruit/fig became stronger and the coffee became darker and more pronounced. I love it.

3/3 - Into the final stretch and this Dip 3 was making magic. All the various flavors came together in a smooth flavorful smoke. Toasted nuts,coffee,fruit/fig and at the end a shot of cream cheese popped in for a moment.Just what the lawyer ordered on this perfect Memorial Day USA !! This Dip showed me why I go back to them time and again when I need a mild/mid cigar. Often times with some great complexity.

No sign of Mr Squirrel today. He must be on vacation. My smoking hangout. Damn maple trees throwing helicopters in the wind.

After this excellent cigar I had time to take the old 409 Belair out for a blast !

Very nice review and pix, smokum. And early 2006 is proving to be about as good as it gets. I find it curious how different people describe the flavor profile of these Dips. Some, like el Prez, say "paprika", and I have even read "terra cotta". But I hadn't heard "fig" before.

But no matter how you call it, the 2006 Dip No. 3 is a winner! Too bad that it was D/C'd.

But I hadn't heard "fig" before.

Well I never ate terra cotta before Shrink. My aunt Rose used to make cookies called cuchi dotti or something like that and the inside was a dried fig filling...not real sweet like Fig Newtons. I have one box in reserve. I can't believe these are d/c either.

Hey you beat me to it! I was going to review the Dip3. Great cigar, great review.

Is that a pug I see, doing what they do best? I got a ne'er do well Pug, Louie. Excellent sleeper and truffle hunter.

Review it Green. Curious to see how you and others describe flavors of this one. Yeah thats a pug...doing what it does best for sure. Ellie. She eats , sleeps, and dumps....good dog.

Great review Bob of a cigar I love. Early 06 produced some very special cigars across the Marques.

Looks like the pug has a carrying handle strapped to him. That dog must be really lazy; I guess it makes it easier to move him around. I am even wondering if your wife carries him like a purse. Women are using some really strange things as purses these days... like cigar boxes.

Smart dog. In fact we worry that she is so smart and so lazy that one day she will learn how to **** in bed and kick it out with her foot !! Thats just a harness. She slips out of a regular collar.
