Yet another cigar from from a batch sent to me by a very generous member of FOH

Construction: Just great all around. Weight felt perfect, great foot bunch, etc.

Wrapper: Medium colorado, smooth and silky to the touch. Finely veined with a nice sheen.

A really beautiful cigar, an exemplary Havana.

Pre light Aroma / Draw: Aroma and taste of sweet hay. Very good draw.

Draw / Burn: draw was firm and consistent - overall excellent, with great smoke volume. Dark gray

ash, broadly striated and slightly flaky.

Taste: First puffs are of salty spice and walnut, followed by hard leather. Almost immediately near

full in body. A core of deep, rich, earthy tobacco, a mid palate of hard saddle leather, with a sugary finish.

Still in the first third, flavor shifts more to almond with a buttery mouth feel - think lightly sweetened

butter almond frosting, with a finish now of citrus. Still near full in body - smooth and well integrated.

Into the mid third, bright citrus becomes dominant. From the get go, this cigar has shown great

depth - nice richness with a long finish. At midpoint, a subtle shift - a bit of wood, chocolate overtones,

and the finish, while still of citrus, is a bit lighter and less acidic.

Moving into the final third, body has actually moved back toward medium, but there is still great

depth and richness. Draw has firmed up, but smoke volume remains excellent. A very light chomp

on the head opens the draw right up. Becoming more earthy with the finish moving back to

cedar and sugar.

Nearing the end, just a bit more earth with some herbal hints, but nothing unpleasant. Still quite

smooth and well balanced. When the finish starts to become arid, and I can no longer hold it,

I set it down.

Truly outstanding in every way - a complex masterpiece.

Score: 96

Comments: All the cigars sent to me from this member of the board have been excellent -

this one has been the cream of the crop.

I've not named him previously, but I feel it's time to give credit where due - Professor Twain,

take a bow - and thank you.

Excellent review once again Colt. Yesterday I smoked an Ex3 from ABR06. I have been keeping tabs on this one every few months. Its not near ready yet. I love RJ profile.

Nice job Colt,

I 've just finished off a box of these from April '05 (Ken, Prez and I smoked the last 3 on Kens deck the other week). This has to be one of my favourite smokes just based on volume of smoke before the you even think the myriad of flavours contained.

Nice review of a classic smoke, Colt.

And kudos to Professor Twain for his generosity.

And a lump of coal to me for passing on this boxcode when it was available... on sale, no less.

Glad you enjoyed it Colt, great review. This cab is one of my all time great purchases, Tampa1257 pointed me toward them and has given me some great advice. But he is like a kid eyeing the cookie jar whenever I bring out these Exh #4s.

More recent vintage of these have been terribly disappointing to me though, I am spoiled.
