Three Cigar Test. Notice to participants.

I have a theory which I would like to expand and put to the test.

Testing will need to be initially done at Czar Deck or Ken Deck (bring own chair, food, soap, disinfectant) to maintain test conditions.

Three cigars each from same box. Two of the cigars have been frozen.

1. We will smoke unfrozen cigar.

2. We will smoke second cigar which has been defrosted 48 hrs.

3. We will smoke third cigar which has been defrosted and stored 30 days.

I will select 3 half coronas for the purpose of the exercise.

I won't detail what I have personally found but I want a review of any differences from participants.

For reasons of locality lets go with:

Ken

Al

Warren

Myself.

Lets do this Thursday 19th of June. Mark it down ;-)

you are more than welcome to use the balcony, notwithstanding your deeply offensive and uncalledfor cmments. however, given that i have previously advised i may not be able to do the spanish thing the night before as i am off to the barossa that day or the next, the next looks doubtful.

week before or after should be fine.

Great idea! I can't wait to read the reviews.

This will definitely be interesting. I look forward to the initial results.

I think that if you want this to be official, and insure proper qualilty control, you should fly in representitives from the States to do a proper tasting.

maybe someone from around New England!

Yes I do want to see how this works out. I have always been concerned by the talk of proper care of cigaras never letting them be exposed to improper conditions and then think it is of no affect to freeze the **** out of them.:-|

IMO the freezing halts the aging process ofr a while. This experiment could well show a "normal", a "tasteless" and a "normal again" cigar. Looking forward to reading what you guys find.

I'd like to make a suggestion...

Smoke the cigars but don't reveal which is which, and maybe even order them differently for each smoker.

I'm anxious to hear the results. Thanks for doing this!

i've smoked cigars from the same box that were frozen for 7 days at -25C and allowed to rest in the fridge for 24 hours, then the counter for 8-12 hours - as well as cigars from the same box that i have not frozen at all, and the only conclusion i drew was that they were all frickin fantastic! As such, i'm looking forward to seeing the results of this test:)
