Allright, so my new 150ct Humi arrived and I need to fill it up! With that in mind I will be placing my first CC online order this week...yay!

I've been reading the reviews form in order to get ideas on what to order but thought I would throw the question out to you folks for advice and then reference this thread when I order.

Some background; I am a newish smoker with only 15 or so cigars under my belt. My tobbaco tolerance is kind of low right now so I've been smoking PC, or corona sized sticks.

I am going to buy around 25 sticks. Ideally I will pick up 12 different varieties in order to find what I like before buying boxes.

For flavour reference, I love the Siglo 1. It's the smoke that got me into Cubans. I've smoked 2 Jose Piedra and really enjoyed them. On the other hand I wasn't a big fan of the few RyJ #1s and #2s I've smoked. I tried to smoke two Fonseca #2 s(I think) and they wouldn't draw so I'm avoiding them like the plague. I also found the one Monte #4 I smoked to be boring.

So....any suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

That is a good thread but it appears to be for more refined pallates. Most of the vet's smoke the bigger cigar sizes. I was hoping to get some suggestions on PC sized smokes or bigger mild-medium smokes.

You should try PLPC , HDM , JL and if you like fullbodied cigar, You should try bolivar PC too.

Thanks Colt, that makes it easy. I'll pick up 2 of each of these. I'll even get a few more of the Monte #4's, the one I had might have been of, or I might have been off...:-)

I would like to suggest a few that I have tried and enjoyed, as I also have recently started with CC's.

I believe size doesn't always reflect on the strength of flavor.

I will start with those that in my limited experience I thought were medium or mild in flavor.

You might try mixing in a couple vitolas to see what size you might like (like a robusto).

These are the ones I liked very much when I first started.

I cannot advise how these particular brands are smoking today but,

Highly recommend:

Trinidad Reyes (one of my most favorite)

PLPC

RASS

HM Epi 2

then maybe something a little fuller like a

Boli PC (love this one) but a PC size so not overpowering.

or a

Punch PC Punch

I am sure these all would benfit from aging, but like me you have to start smoking them young to find what you might like.

Good Luck.

» RASS and Mag 46 ..

i'd very much agree with the PLPC but my cab of 07's are having some problems and the 2nd half needs constant relighting on the few i have tried but don't let that put you off.

if you go mag 46's, either get them aged or leave them for a mini,um of 18 months. makes a hell of a difference.

You mention mild to medium but my experience with the siglo I lately has been very full bodied. With that said in order of preference on the smaller smokes.

1. Siglo I (minuto)

2. Ramon Allones small club corona (minuto)

3. Trini Reyes (minuto)

4. Siglo II (Petit corona)

5. Por larranaga petit corona

6. Partagas D4 (robusto)

7. Bolivar Corona extra.

Larger smokes

1. Partagas P2

2. Bolivar Corona Gigantes

3. H Upman Sir Winstons

Im my experience all of these cigars have been great for me right out of the box and dont require any age to enjoy which sounds like what you are looking for in this purchase. Good luck.

I agree fully with Diz on size. Some of the smaller cigars can be quite concentrated.

But I think you've a good idea in starting with smaller sizes as your tolerance builds -

if for no other reason than it's less "wasteful" to set down a half smoked PC or Minuto

vs. something larger.

And if you haven't already, maybe drop an email to the Czar Crew, and see what their

thoughts might be.

For what it's worth, you're headed on a long voyage - take the time to enjoy the trip :-)

Great feedback. I agree that the siglo one was on full flavour, but it was so damn smooth. I guess what I'm trying to avoid is harsh rather than full flavoured.

Thanks to everyone. I'm going to print this post and lab my order in today or tommorow. I'll post pics when the goods arrive and add some reviews as well.

Cheers,

Matt

I must have got lucky with the singles I have. These have been just beautiful since 2 weeks after they arrived; perhaps my favorite smoke currently.

In fact, I've been dreaming almost exclusively about poker, HU 46s, and this unbelievable young gal I see from time to time. :-D

If I may, I'd just like to add that in this village, being the idiot equates to being
