Mr.T Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 This is only my second post and I apologize it is not a full one. I had the pleasure of smoking this cigar last night with my father while watching some NHL playoff hockey (so much fun). Unfortunately, my team, the Minnesota Wild lost to the Avalanche...if anyone is watching this series or paying any attention to it...it is a great series...grueling to say the least On to the cigar.... This cigar looked great. It was smooth and velvety to the touch. No discernible hard or soft spots. The pre-light draw was perfect; not too loose and not too tight, just enough resistance for a pleasant experience. I will say that in terms of taste, I find the Siglo IV nothing like the rest of line (maybe the Siglo II comes closest). It was a no nonsense-to the point type of smoke right out of the gate...full of pepper and spice with some notes of coffee. I did not detect too much cream or grassiness (sp) that many members speak of. I think the Siglo IV differentiates itself from the rest of the line. I found it to be an aggressive smoke, but not to the point of being unpleasant at all. The burn and draw were consistent and very good throughout the smoke. I only re lit it once and that was because I stepped away for a bit. In terms of body, I think the smoke remained medium to full throughout. The smoke did heat up a little towards the final third. Overall an excellent smoke. It is my favorite of the Siglo line along with the Siglo II. It has the depth to go a very long way indeed. With some age, the last third should round out a little. Thanks for reading

Thanks for your review - I too am a fan of the Siglo line but have only sampled the I, II and VI all of which I enjoyed. Look forward to your next review! :-) Best - BUD
aavkk Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 That is exactly what I needed to move these to the top of my wish list. I love the cohiba flavor profile as a change of pace to partagas and bolivar and was looking for something full-bodied. Great review.
toasterhead Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 Hey Mr. T. Good luck in the game tonight; if the Avs lose at home they are finished. There is something about the ring gauge of the Sig IV that really brings out the flavors better. I love 'em. A well known vendor ;-) mistakenly sent me a box of Sig IV (instead of Sig VI) and after the first one, there was no thought of exchange. Plus I got some nice treats to make up the difference.:-D Cheers, Dave
bassman Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 I love the IVs & Vs, but recently discovered how good the Is are. Lots of pop for a little cigar.
aavkk Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 damn straight! I love those little guys, 45 minute roller coaster ride.
