smokum
I smoked one of these on the drive home from work..I like this vitola lately and have stocked up on some boxes. From the get go this SLR started out with a bang of anise spice and pepper. It was a great flavor profile to start with. I don't know what allspice or 5 spice tastes like so the best I can determine was the light anise. As the cigar progressed it grew bolder and a bit of shortbrreag element came out. The combination of anice and shortbread reminded me of the biscotti my Aunt Rose used to make. The burn was excellent...nice strong but flaky ash. Thru the last 3rd it maintained this profile. Not all that complex but very enjoyable. Beat the hel;l out of the SLR DC IMO.
bassman
One of my favorite cigars. What year are yours? I stocked up on 02s & 03 a while ago and they are excellent. A lot of places are now selling 00s & 01s and they are not nearly as flavorful. I also have a cab from 06, but have not tried any.

Colt45
I've been smoking from an '02 box for some time, and find them to have nice depth, but rather lacking in flavor - except for the last, which had the wonderfully acrid flavor of hot road tar. Many members seem to enjoy them, but I don't think they're for me.

kjellfrick
I love these cigars and I have stocked up on boxes and cabs ranging from -00 to -06. Like Bassman I feel the cigars from -00 and -01 are not as good as the -03. I also like the dressbox cigars better than the ones from cabs, which I find more harsh and immature. Colt45
» Want to try an 06 Colt ?? Thanks Smoky! You guys have me intrigued to try a more recent vintage. What I'll do is grab a few singles next time I acquire cigars, and give them a shot.
