Caesar
Question for the group: How often do you rotate your cigars and/or turn them over in the humidor? If you don't do this semi-regularly, how much will this affect the smoke?
kyee
nope, I'd be rotating cigars for hours on end if I had to do this.
mkz
The only time the sticks in my humi gets some exercise is when I need something tasty from the bottom...
SmokinAl
Mine seem to get smoked so quick as to make revolving them academic.
skindiver
I don't really rotate my boxes as such, but seem to be playing a constant rotation based upon the sizes of the boxes, kind of a mixed puzzle game. I think there's a name for that but it escapes me.

bobsled
No scheduled rotation, but probably take everything out and reaarrange quarterly based on stock and space issues.
Colt45
Count me as one of the guys who only moves things around when trying to make room or dig something from the bottom. I don't know that that there is an effect either way. Professor Twain uses a wine cooler and rotates his boxes, as he's found the humidity varies from top to bottom. KB24
I do a steady rotation every 3-4 months with the boxes. I'm not so sure it matters but I like taking them all out of the Aristo and seeing what I have and then putting them back in. -Patrick

Lanthor
» Question for the group: » » How often do you rotate your cigars and/or turn them over in the humidor? » » If you don't do this semi-regularly, how much will this affect the smoke? My humi is fairly small and I have a coolerdor, which almost makes for a revolving system as cigars move from cooler to humi on a pretty regular basis. This said, I don't think a person could convince me that rotating stock at set intervals is of any value.
wp2
I rotate boxes occasionally (Mini, winecoolerdor, frigerdor), but I'm more concerned with having the right humidity in each.

I rotate and inspect fairly regularly, usually after a new purchase so as to make room. I have temperature problems. I am well pleased that I do check, as I found a live beetle recently. It hadn't done much damage that I could see and maybe it wasn't a tobacco beetle. I was so shocked and splatted it before I thought of having a good look. I also found some mould (mold) recently. I guess if you are running at 70/65-ish all round. then rotation shouldn't be necessary but if you can't guarantee the optimal settings, it pays to play Tetris. sandholm
never, never thought about it either, if you use a good humidor, with an active humidification unit, who has a fan, the humidity will be the same in the whole humidor » Question for the group: » » How often do you rotate your cigars and/or turn them over in the humidor? » » If you don't do this semi-regularly, how much will this affect the smoke? I haven't been doing this long enough to know for sure, but I have noticed that I get a much cleaner, more uniform burn when I set a stick aside for a couple of days, out of contact with any other cigars, and remember to rotate it a couple of times. It's on the times I haven't done this that I get a side-burn. Just sayin', is all I'm sayin' . . . .
