Chicago Sunday 20th of July. 3pm followed by dinner for those who are stayers. The Chicago crew can agree on a location.

At this point mark in your diaries the date and time. Again I will flesh out the details by end March.

I have never been to Chicago and am looking forward to it!

Excellent! I'm looking forward to meeting you, Rob, and some of the other forum members. Hal, I think it's the 20th of July, not the 3rd...basing this on your fireworks comment.

See you in a few months!

Bob

Rob,

As you already know. There is a smoking ban in Illinois. SO the only places you can now smoke are tobacco shops.

We would still be able to get together for some lunch/dinner/drinks.

I will look into places that will allow outdoor patio smoking (I'm sure most will only allow cigarette) If so that might be an option worth exploring.

ALSO.

I would be more than happy to ask my local shop in the outer burbs of Orland Park if they would be willing to host a FOH event for us. I am good friends with both managers and have held other events there in the past. We could also see about having it catered. (for an additional cost..we have a great caterer that caters all our cigar related events) I could ask for it to be a member only event. (Plus some of the regulars that are habanophiles) Let me know.

» Is this still on for July 20th?

An option for meeting is UpDown Tobacco on N Wells in Old Town... pretty good staff there, and I think they have a patio out back in case it's a bigger turnout.

This is a great idea....in the same light I can ask the gals who own Havana House in Hoffman Estates if we can host something there. Close by is Mortons Steak House or just about any kind of restaurant we can imagine..hell I think there is a Hooka Bar down the road from there too. No strip joints close by though !! lolol...

Well this really sucks. I will be moving to KC that week in July. So I wont make it. :crying: How often do you come to the US Rob?

Maybe on another visit I can host one in the Kansas City area.

Even so, I dont know where everyone is located but if anyone is near the KC area let me know. When I get there and get settled in I would love to hang out.

It is probably getting close enough to see if either of these options are available for that date. Has either one of you made contact to see if they would allow us to use their space? Getting a venus for us to smoke at in this city is not going to be easy so I appreciate both of your efforts in trying to get this set-up.

No contact made yet...I think Schaumburg is fairly central so if the consesus is that this area is OK then I can make the contact. Rob what is the arrival and departure time for you guys and where are you staying ? If it is downtown, Up n Down is the best choice... We can take it from there whichever location we settle on.

I can make Belicoso Happen.

Afterwards there is a nice restaurant across the street that allows smoking on their patio.

Let me know and I will talk to the managers this weekend.
